Is there any way to give this forum a dark mode? All this white is retina searing sometimes, especially at night in a dimly lit room. It's like staring at the sun. Is there no setting that can be enabled at your end that would allow a dark option?
Agreed. Hurts the eyes. Depending on the forum software, this should be possible. (Should be anyway offering a different css stylesheet.) Peeking at the TSW forums, they're having really important issues to fix (already too many for a new game that now looks not even like a beta but an alpha to me, a huge mess of a patchwork software).
I don't, but you can also do that in Firefox, but then everything is dark whether you like it or not, and some sites don't work too well when you do that. Last time I tried, my banking site was dark, but it didn't change the text from black LOL. True enough. This is probably at the arse end of their priorities at the moment. Be nice to just have a brief reply saying "Bit busy right now, hang in there". If I used a naughty word someone would deal with that in short order I would imagine.
While that's probably true, the skills of a web designer (CSS fiddler) and a C++ / C# developer don't usually intersect. Only easy if the forum actually supports themes.
vBulletin for example offers customizable themes, but I don't know about the configurability of this forum's software.
If not, a quick note to say so is all that's needed. Again.. a quick yes or no from the team would put it to rest. If it's not possible, then that's the end of that.
If you search in Chrome Extensions for Dark Reader, it will convert the page on the fly to dark mode. It also works with other pages too and can be selectively turned on and off depending on the web url. Hope this helps. Best, Steve
Thanks for the reply. I will see if there's an equivalent for Firefox. Am I to take it from this reply that it's not possible to add a dark mode too the forums then?
Great advice, apart from it's not in Chrome Extensions it's in the Chrome Store.. Here's what it looks like in Chrome..
That's so much better. I'm not changing to Chrome though. I'm still looking for something for Firefox that allows me to turn it off on selected sites.
You can get Dark Reader for Firefox too: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/darkreader/ Best, Steve
