New UI improvement, coming soon - source routes will be available for instances of there being multiple locos with the same name.

What a long roadmap it is!!! Looking forward for this guys.
Hhmm let's speculate on New US Loco. 3.NBB-L7 01 means it's 2011+ electric loco, isn't it? What could it be guys? I'm pretty sure it's a passenger locomotive off course. But what's the options out there. Cheers

I really hope that the DTG looks at the points listed in other forums, such as improvements in the sound of the Eletrostars in LBN, trains stuck in the middle of the way, preventing completion of some services in SEHS, Nahverkehr Dresden, among others...

Read the add-on code first bro, I'm pretty sure it isn't a freight loco.

Looking forward to the performance improvements! Can't stomach TSW3 on Series X with the (mostly) terrible FPS stuttering. Hopefully a smoother gameplay experience will come in the coming months and I could finally make the switch from TSW2. :)

The code for the new us loco would suggest that it is a ac electric loco, we only have 1 ac electric route in tsw3, Boston Sprinter, which is a passenger route, my money is on it being the acela express.

Why was PS4 to PS5 save transfer dropped from the roadmap?

When it was first dropped I thought it was because it didn't make sense to build this for TSW2 when TSW3 was about to release, but it soon became clear that there would be no way to do this within TSW3 either.

It means that the options for PS5 users with substantial progress in TSW2 are:
    • Start from scratch on PS5 (again, for those who've been here since TSW1)
    • Move to PS5/TSW3 for new content only (missing out on upgrades/fixes going forwards on existing DLC purchases)
    • Stay on PS4 versions (experiencing poor performance, reduced feature set than your console is capable of)
None of which seem like a great experience.

It seems to me that so much of the game is based around progression (collectibles, journeys, tracking completed services) that it's incomprehensible to me that progress transfer isn't considered a priority.

For me it's meant I haven't upgraded to TSW3, and I'm finding myself playing TSW2 less. I'm pretty close to giving up on the game entirely.

Let me try and run down those newly announced add-ons and try and work out what they could be.
    • UK Route (GBB R7-02) Hint's at a modern AC Electric Route, so something that has overhead catenary (something that has been quite lacking with TSW routes). I so want this to be ECML South: London - Peterborough, but who knows. Hopefully, we will learn more on this soon.
    • German Route (DBB R6-03) Seems to be another AC Electric route, but not quite as modern, as it seems to be set during the 1991-2010 era according to the code. I want to say that this is Niddertalbahn, as we saw it leaked during a dev diary, but the code doesn't see to hint at that, as that's a diesel route, whereas this is a Electric route. Maybe will find out that route is not from DTG, but rather from someone else like Just Trains for their first route, who knows? I won't speculate further as there could be tons for options for this one here. But ideally, it should be somewhere in Germany that we haven't visited yet like Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Nuremberg and more.
    • US Loco (NBB-L7 01) This is an modern AC electric loco it's seems. The options I see for this are either an Acela Express for Boston Sprinter, or a Metro-North M8 for Harlem Line, with an extension to New Rochelle. But probably more leading towards an Acela. But either way, it's great DTG is making more loco add-ons again, as this is the first one to have been announced since the original August 2020 roadmap (and the first to come out from them since the Class 313 nearly a year ago).
    • UK Route from Rivet Games (GBB R7-03) Another AC Electric Route, like the one DTG is making. Alot of options for this one. Maybe something for Scotland? Who know's, let's see on that one.
Some other notes, great that we are finally getting livery designer support for the GWE HST. I know that has been heavily requested for a long time, so looking forward to seeing that.

Also, we have a new third-party developer. Alan Thompson Simulation are seemingly jumping into TSW. Really intrigued to see what they might eventually bring to TSW at some point.

The code indicates it's AC Electric, so from what I can tell it's almost certainly for Boston Sprinter, it's the only US route I believe that's AC. Both Harlem and Long Island are DC Electric, and the rest are diesel only I believe.

The obvious choice would the Acela, as it's by far the most iconic loco on the NEC. Plus it would be able to go the full 150 MPH track speed, which the included stock can't do, so it has a unique selling point. Technically I believe both the old AEM-7 and the not-so-old but unreliable HHP-8 could fit, but are less likely because they're less iconic, and are retired in real life.

2 x new UK routes & Alan Thomson Simulations joins the TSW Partner Programme set-up.

    Perfect!

Seeing the work ATS put into their routes, I'm so happy and hope they nail it.

UK route (dtg) is AC electric set in 2011+
    German is same as above
Us loco is ac electric from 1991-2010
Rivet uk route is also AC electric set in 2011*

Good to hear they're working on new stuff but i personally hate all this route code nonsense.

Why can't they just tell us what's in the works?

    L7 means a loco built after 2011.
Correct me if I am wrong, but Acela was built before that

It's to indicate when the addon's set, not when it was built. West Somerset's loco DLCs are perfect examples of this, as both have the 7 designation, both were built way earlier, but are depicted in mid-2010's condition.

DTG could give us the general direction of where the DLC is going though. For example North or South Germany

    Nope.

    "[TSW3] – [3.NBB-L7 01] US loco"
NBB means North American, overhead electric. Therefore not a diesel ergo not a freight loco. The obvious candidate is the Acela; there aren't many overhead-power electric trains in the US, and no existing game routes where it could run other than Boston-Providence..

It is exciting to see that both the UK and US will get AC fun, so it looks like something nice and new is coming our way, while at the same time Germany gets that as well where it is really disappointing - when are we finally getting a nice Diesel route for Germany with some single track operation? (Not considering third party Niddertalbahn)

In fact DTG already have sound sample of Acela when they did a survey trip for Boston Sprinter (or NEC?) development, it's very highly possible that it is an Acela right. Cheers

It was confirmed that Niddertalbahn is a 3rd party project.
