It has been released for TSW so won’t be buying it until it’s in a sale on steam

Except this is the modern day route not set in the 1980's with a raft of changes to it. This *IS NOT* the same route

I think one thread is sufficient, making up another doesn't improve discussion.

Being a rivet counter, DT is used for developer "Digital Traction". Dovetail Games is referred to as DTG. :)

Unlike the route on TSW this will be done properly and you will be able to run whatever trains you want.
There are so many visual errors with the TSW version I have given up on it

OK 749006 and RP, I will make my opinion when I see Jamie’s stream tonight.

Looks a highly detailed route. Will possibly be priced as normal £24.99.

Is this the modern route? The DTG blurb says it's how it is today. I'm a bit confused, because if it has the new Victoria, and it is how it is today, why are there 47s on it? Why is everything in Regional livery? On the stream, it shows the new Victoria with the tram platforms and new roof etc... with a regional liveried 158... Why have they made this route, then supplied it with 80s rolling stock? Am I missing something? Now more then ever, we need some 195/331s in this sim.

    Licensing.
The same way WCMLoS had stations in Virgin Red and the track set for EPS but the locos and stock were BR Blue.
The Route is set as it is today - or in the last year - but the trains are BR period

Apart from Victoria to Miles Platting and approaching Leeds you would not see any 195 or 331s
    TPE run 68/Mk5, 185 & 802.
    Northern run 150/156/158

I was there the other week. There were loads of 195s, all of them to Leeds or Chester. It was all 195s, 185s, and 150s, and the occasional 802 for the entire 3 hours I was stuck there. Was that not a typical day? (I'm mainly at Piccadilly) I'm not just on about this route though; Generally, 195/331s are common as dirt in the North. The game needs them if you ask me, and has done for a while.

As for this route.... seeing 47s and regional rail stuff sat at the new Victoria... that's just seem silly to me. You don't really notice the little things like stations being red in WCMLoS as much, but this is the new Victoria... it didn't even exist like this until... when was it rebuilt? 2015 or something? I think it's silly. Unbranded stock would have been better if you ask me. (shrug). Oh well... It's the route I'm interested in I suppose.

Think I might have posted likewise in another thread - that there is no price as yet. Also no pre-order discount, which might have tempted me.

Agreed, rolling stock that is total anachronistic to the modelled route. I can accept a certain amount of fudging, but this seems too much.

A POD maybe unlikely as it’s advertised with no price yet, but you may get 25% off in either the Black Friday or Christmas sale.

I’ve got so much to play already. I will wait awhile to purchase.

This is my problem. Just jumped over from a run in SEHS in TSW3 to try out the 365 in TSC ECML South. I've got all the routes I got with the bundle. Plus on top of that loads still to do in Snowrunner, ATS, ETS2, Run 8, Quake Remastered. At some time I need to justify the £60 I spent on MSFS a couple of years ago. It all mounts up!

I like the way you only quoted the part of my post that seemed to suit you.

There are two Different Routes - The 68/Mk5, 185, 802 runs over the full length of this line via Huddersfield
The Leeds - Chester service with 150/158/195 runs via Hebden Bridge and the Calder Valley.

You would see the 195s on this route between Victoria and Miles Platting and for the last mile in to Leeds.
The Northern 150/156/158 are seen at Victoria, Huddersfield & Leeds.
The local service from Manchester to Huddersfield and Leeds is operated by TPE with 185s

I think you're reading way too much into things. I was merely saying there were several services to Leeds from Vic using 195s. I've no idea what their route was... but thank you for clarifying. I have to ask though, why do you always see some kind of agenda in my replies to you. It's not the first time I have noticed this.

Strange the price isn't being publicised this close to release. Makes me wonder if they are going to try and nudge this for £27.99 or even £29.99. Conversely if they want those who already own the similar route in TSW to take a punt, they may try pitching a bit lower - maybe £19.99 (we can hope).

    £24.99 for 35 miles
Would that make it the most expensive full price route per mile on TSC?

They are two completely different routes, man. Just the highlights:
    • Miles Plating Station is demolished (it was right on the junction)
    • Park Station is disused
    • Cottingley is open (not for much longer, hopefully White Rose makes an appearance as an asset)
    • A line that branches off when approaching Cottingley from Leeds is now lifted
    • Another line at Canal Junction (near Leeds), the Doncaster and Leeds Line, is probably lifted, not sure (it is not used)
You're geting an AP 158, the Class 142 pack, the Virgin Class 47 (obviously in another livery since Virgin is taboo now), a Class 08, and a frigging 03,. Do you want them to just give all that away?
The route is as it is today, but DTG doesn't have the rights to publish the 185 (ATS) or the 150 (removed in 2017 due to AP, AP one removed in 2020 due to licensing with Arriva). So they looked up 90s timetables and found that a 47, 142, and 158 are reasonable inclusions for people who want to run older scenarios on the route, but they very well know that people will want to run 185s on it. They just can't give us the 185.

By the way, here is the present-day timetable. Note that 800s run to Huddersfield, 802s run Newcastle to Liverpool and Darlington to Manchester Victoria, for instance, and 68s run Scarborough services (Don Coffey published a video with a 68 going by barely two weeks ago). These can be created as modern scenarios, too, and the 68 is already with Fife Circle and the 801 with several routes, including American ones. They both have EPs that provide updated liveries already for use in those modern scenarios with 185s and 150s. The odd 142 still appears, too.

I believe the shopping centre is modelled in this route.
I'm sure I noticed it in the preview stream last week (skip to 1:08:24)

I'm referring to the station asset being created once it's completed. I mean, create a new asset pack for it and pair it with the route so purchasers get it for free. The updated route, if not in that pack (without scenarios, or perhaps a bonus scenario stopping at White Rose heading for Huddersfield), can simply be created for Workshop use to remove Cottingley. Even if they find an external asset creator willing to donate it, to save costs.

It can be a problem when you don't understand the Geography. :(
You should do some more research.

[1] 800 units are Azuma and operated by LNER and Leeds in the only place on this route you would see one.

[2] 802 units are operated by TPE they run from Newcastle via Darlington, Leeds, Huddersfield to Manchester Vic & Liverpool
Other TPE services are worked by 185s

[3] Class 68s do work on the line on a daily basis - not as much as you imagine though. The problem is the Mk5 stock do not exist in Train Simulator - you have the locos but no coaches for them.
    IMG_1041.JPG IMG_1042.JPG

[4] 142s only run on Heritage Lines since December 2020 when they were withdrawn.

[5] The timetable you posted is well out of date and does not reflect current operations. And just because the Timing Load says the train is a 150 does not mean it would be on the day.

So from what I saw, it looks like the 158 that comes with this route is the regional railways variant that comes with the AP 158 pack - similar to how there are a few stand alone AP items on steam (NSE 205, GEML Class 90 and 315, and the London Overground Class 313). Also, like the look of the new Mk2 coaching stock - does this mean that all default kuju Mk2s dating back to the rail simulator days will be replaced with these ones?

Jeez the 802 seems a bit ugly with the buffers it should have been equipped with the same couplers as the 801 and 800

Unlikely they'll remove/alter anything from the kuju folder, (could you imagine the uproar over the amount of broken scenarios.. ooft),

Most likely outcome is it will be a new asset in the DTG folder.

My picture is of a Mk5 Push/Pull set that has buffers - it is unpowered.

The 800/801/802 are of the same design without buffers

If they replaced all the Kuju Mk2a coaches with these it would break every scenario that uses the Kuju coaches.
I think that would upset more people than the few it would please

Nothing to stop the user changing the Kuju Coaches for these
But I think they are only in Regional Railways/Transpennine Livery

The 800 series of trains are completely different from the MK5s with driving trailer. They look similar but the 800 series are Hitachi and the Mk5s and driving trailers are CAF.

Not surprising if it's out of date. I have seen some odd services around Leeds that I had not recognized from the print timetable. And services that never started running.

They are in BR Blue/Grey as well. And they could easily replace them by renaming them to match the original ones (they did with the Mk1s way back when, and the 47)

Not sure anyone really wants to touch the Kuju folder with a barge pole (I mean so much can go wrong very easily if you go near that folder)

(to note that's just my personal opinion, not that of the company, so please don't quote me saying "DTG said this" ;) )

(edit - never noticed someone added "staff member" to my profile before now? )

Don't worry Danny, there's enough of us here that'd jump to your defence and help set the record straight, those of us that have been around here a while are aware of the problems you've had in the past in this regard.

Just got this add on for a birthday present and completed my first scenario...

It was the 47/8 passenger working from Leeds to Man Vic...

Not a bad run but a couple of things I particularly noticed was the AWS horn / bells aren't particularly loud and the "speed variable" wipers positively drove me potty... It seemed that they worked off the power handle... The more it was applied, the faster the wipers went...!!!

There are only 3 speeds on 47 wipers, OFF, SLOW & FAST... Oh... and I think a possible PARK position (possibly)...

Is there a way to fix this???

It has to do with DTG not being able to negotiate with First Group for TPE. Had First Group agreed with DTG to get TPE licensing NTP Huddersfield Line 2022 you would have a reskinned class 802 from a GWR version Class 68 from Scotrail/Chiltern. New trains are 185 & mk5 dvt

So I take it DTG reached out, and First Group said no?

No problem, reskins will likely be made. :D
