Bearing in mind the TSC version of the Leeds to Manchester route is getting a Class 142 and Class 158, is it not time to consider putting out a DLC for the TSW version with these two units? The 142 could sub onto TVL and the 158 into mainline work on WCL. Yes not strictly accurate for the era, but then the TSC version of the route is apparently a bit era confused anyway, but IMHO would sell well and add a bit of spark back to a well loved UK TSW route.
Excellent Idea since Class 158 on West Cornwall Local can form a long train with Class 150/2 just like real life front portion Class 158 rear 150/2
I think Dovetail won't add the class 142 or 158 to ntp as dlc due to different time frame as it set in 1983 but also it would be better if they made an route with them instead of an dlc pack. Like they could do and modern tvl which has class 158 and 142 but it won't work for ntp.
Well the timeframe of the TSC route is a bit distorted as it has been built to modern day infrastructure and lineside buildings, but in addition to the 2nd gen units you still get Class 47 hauled services. So in that respect a 142 and 158 wouldn't look that out of place only a few years after the TSW route is set.
British Rail Provincial/Regional Railways as per the one on the new TSC route, which would fit in with the pre-privatisation era. The 158's were introduced in 1991 and even after privatisation in 1994 still ran around in the original livery for some time after until the various companies became established and started repainting or applying vinyls to them.
I much prefer the idea of the Class 25 that was a frequent suggestion back when NTP was still semi-recent. Also could bring in TVL's Class 31 to the NTP timetable, would be great timing considering they could also rework it to no longer require TVL while they're at it. Also seems odd to suggest it for NTP when you suggest yourself that TVL and WCL could work for it. Why not forget about NTP altogether and make the Class 142 for TVL, and the 158 for WCL?
Yes. The 158s started working Express Provincial services down into Cornwall not that long after introduction.
