I think it would be really cool if we got awarded APs for fuel efficiency. I mean the game already works out fuel usage so it shouldn't be that difficult to add in.

That would be interesting and make me a better driver lol. Maybe even ap points for drive quality so you don't to to 100% throttle and braking lol

There was a freeware DB sim kicking about on the tablets which featured this as part of the scoring system. The problem I see is, how do you set the base parameter for optimum fuel consumption or economy. Possibly easier for electric traction but older diesels or steam… especially with the ongoing wonky physics on the latter? It would also make it harder to introduce some element of randomisation later on, for example you get a traction unit in run down condition or a succession of signal checks/diversion to the slow lines etc. due to incidents.

That would be interesting but not on the BKL obviously with a tight schedule which is even hard to keep up as it was based on AI

Many services currently have unobtainable gold medals due to the scoring threshold being set too high. Before any work is done to change the AP system, I think it would be prudent for DTG and Rivet to look at their content and adjust any services with unachievable parameters. I am not a fan of driving for 1hr +/- only to discover I only have enough points for a measly bronze medal. Some scenarios are also inadequately set too high. I hope that the devs can look at each service to check that gold medals are achievable.

I think it would be really great if we had the option to turn off medals altogether. I know the AP thing can be turned off on the HUD and that is how I have it but I still get a medal of some sort at the end of a run. I understand a lot of players enjoy medals and for that reason I would make it an option. Many of the medals are broken and unachievable and rather than have a load of bronze and silver messing up my timetable list I'd rather just turn the whole scoring system off and just have the green tick to signify that a service has been completed.

Not having to worry about medals means freedom to run late if you want to, stop in logical locations on platforms rather than where the game wants and adopt a more 80s style attitude to speed limits. All of which I do when revisiting services which I've already completed. It's a lot of fun.

This kind of verges on my suggestion too, that the current AP system is very unbalanced especially if you do a run with many stops vs. going fast or with a freight with few objective markers resulting in a “false positive” for your favourite route and train.

Basically the whole scoring and AP system needs a radical overhaul.

You mean the SEHS Ashford route. For Nonstop services they can start coasting past the Medway Viaducts that way they have enough momentum to reach 160 kmh channel Tunnel speed limit.
