About The Riviera Line is the railway between the city of Exeter, towns Dawlish and Teignmouth, and the English Riviera resorts of Torbay in Devon, England. Its tracks are shared with the Exeter to Plymouth Line along the South Devon sea wall. It is part of the Network Rail Route 12. The line is 28.25 miles (45 km) with 11 stations. Services Local passenger services on the line are currently operated by Great Western Railway. Mondays-Saturdays see an approximately half-hourly service calling at most stations, which runs beyond Exeter to and from Exmouth along the Avocet Line. On Sundays, a more restricted service operates, most of which terminate at Exeter. Other services on the line include Great Western Railway express trains to/from London Paddington[8] and CrossCountry services from the Midlands and the North.[9] These mostly call only at Exeter St Davids, Dawlish, Teignmouth, Newton Abbot, Torquay and Paignton. Other long-distance services of the same operators call at Exeter, Dawlish, Teignmouth and Newton Abbot before continuing to Plymouth and sometimes Penzance. Maybe useful to run all the way to Paignton with the Paignton to Dartmouth steam railway tacked onto the end as this would maximise the mileage of the route and allow for some very interesting running.
Riviera would be great (particularly in classic diesel era) but I do think Exeter to Plymouth would be more interesting both from the operations and scenery point of view, with several major banks to climb in both directions.
In my opinion an tsw3 route in devon would work if it's in the 60s and goes from exeter to plymouth (south devon mainline) and exeter to exmouth (avocet line) for it to work. As we have too many modern day and 2010s routes in tsw3 becuase it would be good to see an mix of steam diesel. Like for example the class 14xx, 56xx, small praise, castle, 42, 22 and etc as they would work for this kind of route. Also I didn't say the riveria line as we've got it in train sim and I don't think Dovetail would recreate it.
Yeah I would happily welcome it in steam days but would prefer it when you had the 45s, 47s, 50s and HSTs bombing along that beautiful coast.
Id love it to be late 80s early 90s. Intercity era. For the base pack could offer the 101,Class 50 with new air con coaches and Valenta HST. Then the option to add extra DLC such as Pacers, Swallow 47/8 with new variants of the mk2 and mk3. NSE 159, Engineering trains, Mail trains, China Clay stock, TTA tanks for a run/shunt to Laira should it be the full network.
This is kind of too late, but Dovetail said something about the Riviera Line, so it could be a modern day route. And since the Northern license is acquired by Dovetail and same with the GWR license, this route will obviously include the Class 150 and Class 166. So now we have the Glossop Line, possibly Riviera Line and even the Preston-Blackpool line.
After a little research, never mind. Maybe it's the train simulator version of the line, and they aren't making that line in TSW. I got the idea when I saw the summer schedule.
