Is work still being done on the Boston Sprinter signalling? It’s around a year since the route was released and ACSES/ATC still isn’t working as it should.
Nope. Cactusjuice who did the track laying has said that it is difficult to do due to how the built in the first place. And if dtg were actively working on it, they would have said/done something by now
Okay. I might have exaggerated but here is what cactusjuice said. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/boston-f40-can’t-keep-schedule-with-acses.59969/
Well, with the flurry of new things we can guess what’s happening…… “we’re not working on it yet but we’d like to…”
I don't have an update for you at the moment, as the team are looking at the content currently covered in the Roadmap: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/train-sim-world-3-roadmap-6th-october-2022.60439/ I don't want to parrot the above, but it is something we want to work on, but no active development at this time.
Hopefully if it’s true that the next DLC is a Acela on this route, that means they will do some work to improve the timetable/signalling/safety systems at the same time. It would be counter intuitive to release a shiny new locomotive on a route and not fix the signalling but who knows.
Sadly, it really wouldn’t surprise me if they left it as is, even if the new train is the Acela. The track record here is not great.
Exactly. They've released new game full of old bugs, so why they should not do the same for such small thing like new loco.
If the new US loco is indeed for this route, and it is indeed the Acela, it is high on my to buy list and I would love to get it - but that HAS to be accompanied by a fix to the signalling system, because otherwise it is unplayable! Haven’t touched that route since release, as I’m waiting for the promised fixes, and I will not buy a DLC until it is actually fixed.
I really like the route, but the signalling system lets it down considerably. If left unfixed, it’s a kick in the knackers for sure.
A year on and we're still talking about fixes to Rush Hour routes. We're talking about them, but DTG is not. I'll put my money on a Walmart on Mars before we see RH passengers on BML and signal fixes on BPE. Not to mention banking com on the CRR F7, which, according to MP, is still on the list to be fixed.
I remember looking through the forums and Matt said a while back that he would not make the same mistake moving forward on not adding banking comm. So basically future routes that came out after crr would all have banking comm but not crr itself
" Banking comm doesnt work unfortunately due to a misunderstanding between members of the team - its on the list to fix. " (my emphasis ) That's a direct quote from a forum post.
