I notice there's a bit of an flaw with the way ECS instructions have been given on out SEHS. When doing ECS moves to Gillingham Depot, the game will first instruct you to stop at the platform. Once you have completed that instruction, the game will then want you to move into the sidings. However, there's an issue with this. In reality, you should NEVER move off from a standstill towards a red signal unless specifically advised to and/or under local instruction. The issue with how it is set up in SEHS/TSW is that the signal will NEVER clear unless I crawl up to the signal from a standstill. Here you can see I have stopped along the platform, which the previous instruction advised me to. Now it is telling me to go into the sidings. As you can see, I have to crawl towards the red signal for the position light to activate. So it looks like it only activates if your train is a certain distance away from the signal (a very short distance that is!)
Can yuou try not moving at all and see if it is just a timing thing? Just because the instruction is to go to a place, doesnt mean you need to follow it directly, you're the one in charge of the train. Matt.
I tried this in the past and stayed there for approx 10 mins. No change. I even checked to see if it was because there was an oncoming train approaching but the line was clear.
There's one ECS on SEHS where if whilst at the platform and you contact the signaller they will instruct you to move up to the red signal, which then changes. So by doing that you are following local instructions. Never seen this message before and I thought it was a cool feature TBH
Would be most helpful if you can just clarify which service exactly (or one specific example) just so I know i'm trying the same thing - sods law i'll otherwise pick the one service that's fine Running 2K26 now.
Ok so I ran 5T73 into gillingham, couple of waitfor's as it moved to part 2, signal stayed red. Pressed tab, said denied, move up to the signal. Moved up to it, and the white lights appeared. I'll ask the team what that is - I suspect something related to call ons, but i'll check its intentional and if so, ask them to think about some way to better inform players That would have tripped me up too - I try not to tab every red I see.
Maybe, i'll find out. Feels like its triggering when you get in a certain range, rather than a timeout like Approach control is.
