Set in modern day at a route distance of roughly 115 miles including the much anticipated class 800 and other trains such as class 185, 158, 170, 220 and 180 also with route layers such as the wcl class 37 and ntp classes 47 and 45 maybe even layering in the br heavy freight classes 08 and 40 the stations on the route would be peterborough newark northgate doncaster york burley park headingley horsforth weeton pannal hornbeam Park harrogate starbeck knaresborough cattal hammerton poppleton wakefield westgate leeds we can dream i guess
I would say Peterborough to York is what I would go for as providing the era is modern and set around 2019 you could get away with having just the Azuma, 225 and HST included or if we are going by 1 new loco a route have the HST with either the Azuma or 225 and the one which isn't included come as dlc. On the other hand you could knock it back to the late 70s or early 80s with HSTs in original condition, Deltics, 56s, 46s, 47s, 37s etc. Anything ECML I will not have to think about before buying so a very good suggestion.
Yes please I’d love this as someone with autism ticks all my boxes new route to learn plus awesome rolling stock I’ve travelled on namely the turbostar and sprinters
for me I think it's the modern version come soon in the game why dtg have the class 387 in tsw dtg have the Thameslink licences and I think maybe a class 700 come soon in tsw 3 maybe for SEHS and SEHS will be extended to ramsgate and ashford
Anything with a Class 800 and you've got my support! Especially in LNER livery. Those trains look so great
I personally think the ECML between York and Peterborough will be perfect. Yes it's a lot of mileage, but longer routes are possible now. Also, there are only 6 stations (York, Doncaster, Retford, Newark Northgate, Grantham and Peterborough), so not a lot of station modelling required which could help make a longer route more possible and realistic. There would be a variety of calling patterns (all stopping at all stations, semi fast calling at Doncaster and Newark, and non stop services) Using either the new Azuma, the Class 91 or class 43 HST (or any combination of the above) from operator LNER, I think this section of the ECML would be better than having London to Peterborough simply because of the route length, varied calling patterns and truly high speed driving. This is the number one route I'd love to see, Peterborough to York would be perfect
for me no I will see the ecml from Peterborough to london King cross with a branch go to gatiwck airport with a class 700 and the rolling stock class 91,800,387,700 and 66 for freight service
Just keep in mind if we were to get York to Peterborough, we wouldn't have the stock at present to represent other services that branch off at most stations. If you think Cross City will be barren, imagine the ECML with every station being as quiet as New Street could.
