Route: North Wales Coastal Train: Class 221, Class 158, Class 175. Some trainspotting at Llandudno Junction.
A CW LBSCR D1, in SR Malachite, on a DTG Portsmouth Line Direct passenger run: A CW LSWR A12 headed passenger train on GAD Dorset Coast freeware route: The A12 is my most recent TS acquisition, thanks to a CW 30% off sale. That, and its recent update, made it a must-have. (I debated between it and the LSWR T3, also recently updated.) To me, the 0-4-2 wheel configuration seems an odd choice for a tendered steam loco, which adds to its appeal. I grow more and more fond of SR Malachite, especially when it's as well implemented as on the two locos featured here.
The A12, a Stroudley design, was nicknamed “Jubilee” as it was introduced in 1887, Queen Victoria’s Jubilee year. They were used on expresses!
Spoornet South African Class 6E1 Series 2 'E1246' shunts together 5 freight wagons at Nzenga, it will then reverse to Danskraal where the train will collect 4 more of the same freight wagon. After this, the train will then head for Ladysmith to leave them for the evening train headed for Pietermaritzburg. Loco: South African Class 6E1 Series 2 Route: Kwazulu-Natal Corridor: Pietermaritzburg-Ladysmith Note: I am actually unsure of the specific Series for the Class 6E1 used in this scenario, numbering suggests it is the Series 2 variant whereas the Steam DLC Page says the locomotive in the route are the Series 4 variants. I was unable to decide, so I just went with the numbering to make it somewhat correct I hope.
1) Class 421 from London to Portsmouth, on another day of travel during Network Southeast times 2) Refurbished Mk3 coaches are being delivered to FGW, here about to cross Reading 3) A Class 33 takes an intermodal through the northern mountains full of spruce 4) A GE ES44AC trio with heavily loaded hoppers approaches Sherman Summit soon 5) A gray Class 33 jumps to help on a gloomy day to keep Network Southeast going in the city
OMG, just downloaded and ran for the first time the Dorset Coast Line from Golden Age Developments. It is absolutely stunning, the detail is phenomenal and it also gave me an excuse to raid the Caledonia Works Sale to find something suitable to run on it. 1x SR U Class - LSWR A12 - LSWR T3 - LSWR 700 later and the wallet is somewhat lighter but by god have I got a smile on my face.
Apologies forgot to add links for the route and Locos:- Route: https://www.golden-age-developments.co.uk/dorset-coast.html Locos: https://caledoniaworks.com/shop/
Some LNER freight. You and me both. I'll post some of mine later. I had a lot of SR coaches that I never really had a route to use on until now. So to add onto that, I bought some SR freight and the A12 which I was eyeing for some time now. Overall I really like LSWR, SECR and SR era locos and rolling stock. Gonna be fun taking them out for a spin.
More Dorset Coast / CW steam loco goodness. An SR U class paused at the first stop beyond Bournemouth: An A12 in Southern Black at that same station: Another A12, in . . . I always forgot what this shade is called: Speaking of southern British railways, what initially drew me to British steam was the LB&SCR, which has received comparatively little attention in Train Simulator. As have quite a few other pre-grouping railways, truth be told.
British Rail Class 47 '47065' pulls a 10 car long train of timber from Mossend to Kingmoor on a wet, snowy day in the afternoon. The train had to stop on multiple occasions in sidings to let the faster British Rail Class 43 (HST) express services by. Once at Kingmoor, the train will decouple from the timber and recouple to some coal wagons for the return trip to Mossend for the evening service. Loco: British Rail Class 47 Route: West Coast Main Line North
Route: WCML south Trains: Class 377, Class 66, Class 378, Class 66. Finally I have this route and it's not that bad in my opinion. Here is the first scenario I played.
Some 66 + 37 fun, the 37 can be seen full power up the Lickey incline on its way to Birmingham New St from Bromsgrove.
Grabbed these Cornish Main Line / GWR 58xx images maybe two weeks ago, then totally forgot about them . . . until now:
Route: China Clay For Export. Train: Class 37, Class 47, Class 43. Some nice shots on a classic route.
Absolutely gobsmacked as to how much detail has been included with this GAD Dorset Line Route and yet still get terrific FPS Just look at the quality of these telegraph posts/wires and the semaphore signals, they are just super, and no frame rate hit? Credit where due, if you like your Southern Rail steam locos, this is one of the best routes currently available for TSC
Route: Northeast Corridor Train: MP36PH, ACS-64. Some fine shots on the NEC. Finally something from America.
Finishing off my (record long) cycle, ran GWD106 at last. It's the usual casual climb from Elphaba / High Iron / Gary, great to look around, enjoy the sights. Following a train ahead adds a bit of signaling variety, too. 1) Union Pacific's Independence SD40-2 leads, approaching Donner Summit (Donner, July 4th, GWD106) 2) Amtrak ACS-64 about to loop around Sunnyside Balloon, readying for a return service 3) Union Pacific ES44ACs with hoppers approach the summit soon (Sherman Detour, Part 1) 4) Autumn moods in North London - Gray 33 with ballast filled Sealions 5) A Siemens ES64 duo starts the climb towards Semmering with hoppers
Just a fun shot. Inspired by small steam in the UK (as portrayed by decrepitts) and jealous of the available fresh air and it blowing one's hair, one PRR crew decided it's time to introduce their newest, seasonally flexible solution, the PRR GG1 Cabriolet. Isn't it puntastic that now you can be in the cab of the cab - taking the term Cab Ride to a new level of its own.
I've been busy doing repaints for and extending the workshop route "Adriana County RR" the results are in the RWA library. Here are some pics of repainted GP9s on the latest extended section. Top to Bottom: GP9s on the Redborne Elevator Job haul MT hoppers out of Scurlock for Redborne Train passes Waterton on the Lawson Branch en route to Redborne Entering Lawson from the West Leaving Lawson passing the Recycling (scrap) yard Switching the loaded cars at Redborne. The MTs sit in the background
Some 1960s window-hanging as BR 2-6-0s 78022 and 76047 hammer away at the head of the 9.35am Blackpool North to South Shields. There's a continuous climb of mainly 1-in-70 (but steepening to 1-in-60 or more) from Kirkby Stephen East to the line's summit at Stainmore, and from the look of things, both firemen are getting a wet shirt early in the contest. About 15 mins later the duo are dutifully plugging away as they cross Belah Viaduct with speed holding steady in the high 20s - the steepest part of the ascent is yet to come. Our on-train correspondent reports later that the summit was reached at a respectable 22mph before the brakes went on for a well-earned water stop.
Moving on to the next round of content, I found myself back over Donner Pass, getting to know a locomotive I'll certainly drive a lot in the many available liveries. The late SP logo is very likeable, too - I think this 4000hp beast looks great. 1) An SP engineer in training takes an SD70M duo pulling autoracks to Truckee 2) The EWS Executive Class 67 poses for a shot on Settle-Carlisle 3) An Alco RS-11 sorts wagons in Altoona on a very autumnal, dark, foggy day 4) An EMD GP40 leads an NJT excursion out of Altoona towards the Horseshoe Curve 5) Under an early autumn snow, a workman shows keen uninterest to the 628 leaving Traben-Trarbach
Adriana County RR had a small roster of Alco RS11s. These have been in store for a time but due to an upsurge in traffic they have been washed and put back into service, courtesy of the RWA . (Don't you just love fiction, it's like you can just make it up.) (Driver and non driver versions, repaints based on the Virtual railroads RS11 available on Steam in PRR livery as seen in the post above leaving Altoona - good coincidence that!!).
Some photos from my first full run of the East Coast Main Line in TSC, most being towards the end of the run from Edinburgh Waverley. Original Plan was to use the ECML Merge from ATS but I had several issues with it so I did the run in 4 separate legs instead. (Edinburgh-Newcastle, Newcastle-York, York-Peterborough and Peterborough-London Kings Cross). Total journey time was between 4 hours 20 minutes and 4 hours 40 minutes (Been asleep since I finished the route so I've forgot the exact time) Train Addons used: AP Class 91 Enhancement Pack + BHReskins Class 91 LNER/VTEC Reskin Pack Route Addons Used: Just Trains Newcastle - Edinburgh DPSimulation ECML North East ECML Modern York - Peterborough DPSimulation ECML South

Route: London-Faversham. Train: Class 375, JT Class 20. Its time to clean. And what we should have had For TSW3 instead of a poorly made 66.
1) On a lovely autumn evening during Pennsylvania Railroad times, a GG1 races towards Trenton with a stopper 2) A GE C44-9W descends Donner's east slope to Truckee during the last winters of Southern Pacific 3) Clouds gather over mixed Southern Pacific merchandise, with SD40T-2s climbing the west slope to Donner summit 4) Sun is setting over the west of England near Bristol 5) V200 with containers - You don't see this every day
Route: WCML South, Dresden-Leipzig, Mosel valley. Train: OBB 5022, Class 90,Class 390, Class 350, DB BR 189, DB BR 612. Random picture time! 1) A OBB 5022 on Mosel valley heading for Koblenz. 2) DTG vs Virtual Railroads. 3) Train meet on the WCML. 4) An overtop view of a DB BR 612 in the Mosel Valley. 5) High speed freight!
