Hello. I’m interested in seeing a US steam route We already have a British steam route with spirit of steam but I’d like to see more steam routes with other countries A few ideas I have include The nickel plate road 1941 Strassburg railroad Or even the New York central in the 1930s when the Hudson’s were still around Do let me know what you guys think and maybe chime in with other ideas
My ideas: -ATSF #3751 DLC for Cajon Pass -UP #844, #4014, and #3985 DLCs for Sherman Hill -SP Donner Pass with Cab Forward, SP 4-10-2, and 2-8-0 Consolidation -ATSF Transition-era Raton Pass or Cajon Pass with ATSF 2-10-4 5011-Class for heavy freight, 3751, 3765, 3776, or 2900-Class 4-8-4 for passenger services, and EMD GP7, FM H-12-44, or smaller steam loco for switching and local operations -PRR Horseshoe Curve in the 1940s-50s with J1 2-10-4, K4 Pacific, and H-10 Consolidation -NYC route with Hudsons, Niagaras, and Mowhawks -Grand Canyon RR -Cumbres and Toltec and/or Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge -Cass Scenic RR -Strasburg (N&W 611 is needed for route) -SP GS4 #4449 DLC -NKP #765 DLC -UP 4-12-2 DLC for Sherman Hill
I love the Strasburg railroad it’s one of my favorite places on earth. I would not want to see it on tsw. It’s very short they go 5mph the whole way and there aren’t many runs that they do.
Strasburg does NOT do 5 miles per hour the whole way. If they did, they wouldn’t be able to do hourly trains.
A steam locomotive pack would be an interesting idea In particular engines usable with Sherman hill and horseshoe curve
