Yea, lots of tutorials became broken with the launch of tsw3 and what you experienced with the trains not moving is likely due to red light issues or issues with the dispatcher which is a much bigger core issue dtg is tackling right now. For msb, you kinda have to drive slow and stuff for your prompts to register. So don't rush to get to the end but go slow and keep on trying until it gets registered.
