Since DTG had done a BR Diesel Loco and BR Diesel Electric packs I think the time is round it off with a BR AC locomotive pack

The locomotives included in this pack encompass the original 5 classes of electric locomotives built for the WCML under the 1955 modernisation plan which all had top speed of 100mph

    Class 81:

Built by the BRC&WC between 1959 to1964 with 25 locos being built. Originally designated AL1 these were among the more successful electric locomotives built for the WCML electrification and saw a wide use throughout the WCML on passenger and freight duties. Withdrawals of the class commenced in 1988 with the arrival of the Class 90s with the final members working Empty coaching stock moves out of Euston taking over from the Class 83s. Final withdrawals took place in 1991 with the Arrival of the Mk3 DVTs on the WCML eliminating the need for empty stock moves out of Euston. 81002 the only surviving member of the class is currently preserved at Barrow Hill.

    Class 82:

Built by joint venture between Metropolitan Vickers and Beyer Peacock & Co. Ltd. between 1960-1962 10 of this class were built and were designated AL2. Like the Class 81 the 82s were among the more successful electric locomotives built for the WCML electrification however Despite their success the introduction of Class 86 and 87 locomotives meant that the class ended up being gradually withdrawn from service with the final 2 spending their final days on Empty stock moves in and out of London Euston until their final withdrawal in 1987 with 82008 being the sole survivor at Barrow Hill.

    Class 83:

Built by English Electric at Vulcan Foundry the same place the famous Deltic diesels were built at. 15 of these locomotives were built between 1960 - 1962 with them being designated AL3. Problems with the water-cooled mercury arc rectifiers meant that the class were put into storage until 1971 where they were fitted with Silicon Rectifiers and put back into service. With the introduction of Class 86 and 87 locomotives meant that the class ended up being gradually withdrawn from service with the final 3 spending their final days on Empty stock moves in and out of London Euston until their final withdrawal in 1989 with the Class 85s taking over their duties until the arrival of the Mk3 DVTs in the early 1990s. E3035 (83012) being the sole surviving member resides at Barrow Hill.

    Class 84:

    (Image taken by: Gareth Bayer
Built by the North British Locomotive Company between 1960 and 1961 these were designated AL4, like the Class 82 only 10 of these Locomotives were built. This class were the least reliable out of the bunch due to persistent problems which included the same issues with the mercury arc rectifiers which also plagued the class 83s along with various other issues. Even after 2 rebuilds with the first one in 1963 and the second one in 1972 the class ended being withdrawn between 1977 and 1980 with 84001 being the sole survivor at Barrow Hill.

    Class 85:

Built by BR at Doncaster the Class 85 originally designated AL5 were the most numerous of the first-generation electric locomotives with a total of 40 being built between 1961-1964. These locos became a staple of Electric freight haulage along the West Coast Mainline especially during the 1980s. The class began to be withdrawn between 1987 and 1991 with the introduction of Class 90s and DVTs on the WCML eliminating the Empty Stock moves out of Euston, Manchester and Liverpool along with the Speedlink wagonload network ceasing operations. 85101 and 85105 worked the Roarer Requiem on the July 30th, 1991. 85101 (85006) like the other 4 locos on this list currently resides at Barrow hill with plans to eventually restore the loco to working condition.

    Rolling Stock
As with the previous BR Blue packs which came with wagons and coaches so I could see the Mk1s from other DTG products being reused. As For Freight Wagons I'm not sure on that front.

    Route & Scenarios
Since the scenarios will mainly be Career but I think the scenarios will either be on WCML over Shap or on WCML South

Excellent idea for British Tap Changers WCML South. For the next loco Class 83
The physics package wise Class 83 was the prototype for Polish Railways EU06 EU07 locomotives therefore it can be made for Workshop routes like Frankfurt am Oder Posen/Breslau

I suggested this mainly due to the lack of early UK Electrics in TS and it would bring more tap changer locos outside of the Class 86/87

We've been asking for this type of package for years, or, at least a Class 85, as there were 40 of them all allocated to Crewe Electric, and we now have DLC and freeware routes available with Crewe included, but, nobody is bothered, DTG, or, 3rd party, so, don't think it's likely to happen anytime soon.

    Cheerz. Steve.

I am sure I saw on UKTS a couple of years back someone was showing renders of a class 85, it may have just been a cab. I can't recall whether it would have been a payware or freeware release. I think it was in the early stages of development.

I can't see it now though of course but I am sure I am not dreaming it!

A class 85 at least would be very welcome, there was a class 82 by IHH many years ago which I do have. I often wonder what other goodies IHH would have come up with if he had continued, I have said before we need a BR version of Caledonian works.

There are still some big gaps in the availability of BR period loco's and units.

Would be great to see. I have downloaded the 85, which so far uses the 86 cab.
