The Denver & Rio Grande Western purchased a total 26 SD45 from EMD in two orders. The first order was of ten, numbered 5315-5324 it was delivered in January and February 1967. The second order was of sixteen, numbered 5325-5340 it was delivered in April and May 1968. The first group (5315-5324) includes the low mount brake cylinders on their trucks, large snow plows and radiator fan guards with solid metal disks at their center, while the second group (5325-5340) have high-mounted brake cylinders on their trucks, smaller snow-plows and radiator fan guards that where all-wire with radial supports. Many units were fitted with a radiator spray features including a 50 gallons water tank at the rear of units inside the carbody and water spray head below the radiators When the Denver & Rio Grande Western started to repaint the EMD SD45 with the large Rio Grande lettering did not repaint all the locomotives but only some. The SD45 that where repainted with the large Rio Grande lettering where: 5315, 5322, 5326, 5327, 5328, 5329, 5331, 5333, 5334, 5336, 5337, 5338 and 5340, The first two unit to be completed where D&RGW 5336 and 5337 in August 1968, the other remaining unit keep the small lettering. It would be nice if is possible have the D&RGW EMD SD45 with both version of the lettering paint of this locomotive.
Yeah, I agree and one of the possible carrier scenario a part be on Soldier Summit can also be when D&RGW leased 12 unit to Union Pacific. *Edit* For the career scenario on Soldier Summit I mean the one with the Salt Lake City Extension dlc.
Yes, that would be good too. Also, while we are asking, I'd like to see Utah RR in the game as they still use the Soldier Summit route today!
There are SD45 repaints in a number of liveries including ATSF and Conrail in the RWA library. edit: Just checked and there are repaints of DRGW SD45 5315 and 5329 in the library, + Conrail, ATSF, Erie-Lackawanna, CSX, Milwaukee, BN and Northern Pacific
Ok, if I like more that there are all the 26 unit with the D&RGW features that they have, like the gyra light on the nose then just have two unit in this case 5315 and 5329.
Why not ask him, he is responsive. Just use a search engine “DTM Rail Simulation” or you can try: www.digitaltrainmodel.com
Wont happen, I'm pretty sure he doesn't have the files anymore for his old SD45s he made eons ago. And lets be honest, if he did redo the model, it would be worse. Take a look at the CSX SD45-2 pack compared to the ATSF SD45-2.
I mean that for me it isn't an huge problem if DTM, TravelByTrain or other developer would make this D&RGW locomotive.
