A pair of Burlington Northern Geeps lead a local freight across Lake Ewauna on an early summer morning. A pair of Southern Pacific Freights wait for departure in SP's Klamath Falls Yard in the distance. Route: Mount Shasta Line: Dunsmuir - Klamath Falls Locomotives: EMD GP20, EMD GP38-2, EMD SD40T-2, EMD SD9E
A trio of Canadian National power leads a eastbound grain train along the northern shore of Moose Lake on a sunny winter day in British Colombia. Route: Yellowhead Pass: Jasper - Valemount Locomotives: EMD SD70M-2, GE C44-9W
Really question why any of us should continue to contribute to this competition? Last week's winner had the privalage of first place and visible on the loading screen for just 24hrs before being replaced with 3x DTG adverts, two of which have been in our face for the last fortnight. If the DTG way forward is using the loading screen purely for advertising, then please have the decency to inform us and save us the time and effort in producing some seriously good eye candy, which is currently instantly replaced with the latest DTG sale advert.
Whilst sat on my yacht on Lake Starnberg I decided to take a picture of 2x DB BR426 EMUs at Starnberg Station. Loco:- DB BR426 Route:- Munich - Garmisch
Sorry about this will make sure the winners go at the start of that week and work around when loading screen ads are going in
Thanks for your timely response Jamie it is much appreciated. I just find it very demotivating that we all put so much effort into producing some excellent screenshots to not have them displayed, especially since the excellent Fastload feature was launched. I would hate for this thread to lose contributers, as it really is a highlight of the week seeing which of the many excellent shots has been succesful. Long may it continue.
Some great shots of Lakes well done all. This weeks winner with a awesome shot on the Yellowhead Pass is Blacknred81 , congratulations. Have a great week everyone. Next Weeks Contest : https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...test-week-44-november-2022.61600/#post-565977
While I am glad I won this week, it does feel like the contests are drying up a bit in terms of entries. Not sure if its constant issues with them or the theme this week, this past week just seem bland.
The theme wasn't easy, I forgot one specific shot I had, otherwise all of my lake shots were less competitive. Apart from the loading screen woes, I guess a lot of people give up after a few tries. I've also accepted that my preferences don't seem to match that of the jury.
I'd figure Lakes shouldn't of been that hard of a theme, but I guess it was kind of. (A handful of shots this past week weren't even lakes.)
Activity on the TSC board in general seems to be slowing down. It's not surprising that competition entries are slowing down with it. Also, winning doesn't seem as worthwhile as it once was, and I find I've often got other things to take up my time.
I personally feel our contributions have been somewhat devalued of late and can understand folks not bothering anymore. This week for example (Week 44), winning screenshot posted Monday evening and replaced with DTG Autumn Sale & Taurus Mountain adverts by Wednesday. With fastload enabled most weeks you only get to see the adverts so why take time to produce a possible winning screenshot. I believe DTG Jamie is trying his best to sort it out but feel he is being outgunned by the marketing team.
