For this suggestion, I propose the following... The Woodhead Route from Manchester Picadilly to Sheffield Victoria via Woodhead and the branches to Glossop and Reddish Depot. The middle of the main route is no longer used. Also the line to Wath should be included. I set a suggested year of 1967 which would permit running the full route with rolling stock as follows... Class 76 Bo+Bo 1500v DC electric locomotive Class 77 Co Co 1500v DC electric locomotive Class 506 1500v DC electric multiple unit If set later than 1967 it may not be possible to include the Class 77 as they were withdrawn in September 1968 to later be sold to Nerderland Spoorwagen.(Dutch Railways). Route map of the proposed suggestion. Route diagram showing Eastern section of the line and including the Wath line. Class 76 E26055 in BR Green livery. Class 76 E26036 in later BR Blue livery. Class 77 E27000 in BR Green livery.
Class 506 unit with Class 76 in BR Green livery. Class 506 unit at Manchester Picadilly in BR Blue livery. Class 506 unit at Manchester Picadilly in BR Blue and Grey livery with a first generation dmu.
My only concern is the rolling stock wouldn't have much use elsewhere - they were almost exclusively used on the Woodhead route due to the unique electrification of the line. However, if the route was set in the late 1950's then the stock from Spirit of Steam could layer on, allowing for more variety and a first with electric and steam traction running alongside one another (diesel too if you include a shunter like the BR Black Class 08 in the TSC version).
Bring it on and if Stuck on these locomotives the TSC Manuals for Woodhead are helpful. Class 77 has an Alt paint scheme the Dutch Railways NS 1500. Woodhead Line can give Duisburg Oberhausen Utrecht Merged form HDBU route era 6 railtour on Class 77 to Emmerich am Rhein from Utrecht. Spoiler: HDBU Hollandstrecke Duisburg/Bochum-Utrecht. This is a merger of HRR with Duisburg Oberhausen Arnhem Utrecht line . In the case of Dutch Railways NS1500 Class 77 Railtour to Emmerich am Rhein if Woodhead was owned it will have older Dutch & West German carriages or a Dutch Carriage coupled to a Deutsche Reichsbahn DDR Rekowagen DR Y-Wagen UIC assuming Woodhead Line Duisburg-Utrecht and a GDR route were owned.
Well the content for this would work on a 1950-51 Great Eastern Mainline would work, EM1s 26001-26010 ran from Liverpool Street to Shenfield alongside the Class 306s which were of the same family of design as the 506, stick those alongside some brand new Britannia Class locomotives for express services and that would be one awesome route right there
I possibly even the GT3 as a loco DLC. If it's possible to see it in TSC and in OO gauge, then it is possible to have it in TSW3
As long as it's the route in it's full glory, with all stations in use, I'd be very much interested. Never really liked the TSC version of the Woodhead Line in the BR Blue era with half of the stations closed down. Always prefered the earlier version in the BR Green era.
