PC What Is Spirit Of Steam Winter Accolades ?

I can't find anything more about it, other than the launch video, which tells me nothing.

 

Its just a winter trailer to sell stuff and review stuff over winter I think :/

 

Usually, an accolades trailer is just a trailer that contains quotes from positive reviews of the game or whatever form of media it is. Kinda just seems like a new winter-themed trailer that DTG made for Spirit of Steam, that's all.

 

I would prefer some news on fixing the AI SPAD's which wreck most of the freight runs and fixing the crazy physics in TSW3. Oh and whether it's now fire and forget or, 1. More DLC is planned for the route and 2. More steam routes are being considered.

 

Dtg would say they would love to but that there are no plans/not being worked on at the moment. Again, if it's not announced on the roadmap, not being worked on even though the roadmap is more barebones now

They missed that one out of the video.

 

Instead of creating new trailers they should fix the many bugs/issues

 

Meanwhile the locos still suffer from chronically low pressure. When is this getting fixed? I can only pretend I'm driving a badly steaming engine for so long.

 

I mean it might just be me but I'm not sure the idea of marketing team working on bug fixes really sounds like a good idea.

 

But they shouldn't be actively marketing something that is so horribly broken...

 

Indeed and I would question whether SoS deserves any accolades at all in its current sorry state. No meaningful support, and no prospect of improvement or future stock DLCs, at least according to the roadmap.

Edit: ...apart from the promised manual firing, but will that fix the broken/incomplete physics?

 

Thanks all, I think the winter bit confused me as well ...being as it hasn't started. I guess it's the Christmas marketing effort bought forward for the sales now on.

I'm happy with SoS on TSW2, although I find it too free steaming & easy. As long as it was drivable at a reasonable speed I wonder if I'd actually prefer doing battle with the TSW3 half update/excess steam usage bugged version.

 

I am having a bit of a rennaisance with TSW since CCL came out but I refuse to reinstall SOS until they have fixed the bugs and preferably we see something about future DLC as it really is too quiet and doesn't evoke the busyness of the railways in the late 1950's. I enjoyed the driving experience in TSW2 but they appear to have damaged it since.

I imagine we won't hear anything before the new year.

I mean.. The conservative part is advertised, Avanti services are advertised, the UK is advertised, Mcdonalds is advertised, America is advertised, China (peoples republic of china) is advertised - They are all broken, what makes this, a video game much diffrent?

 

I dont have to pay for the UK and if i pay for a Big Mac i will complain if it has many issues like TSW

 

For the UK part just insert whatever country you live in instead.

 

My country is great, happy to pay for it.

 

I don't have to pay for the UK, but I pay through the nose for the USA (or at least its gubbmint)
