As the title asks. Default sounds like someone shaking a bag of nails especially at low revs. Only one I can see on the main mod site is for the Cajon version. Thanks in advance.
there is a bit of cab volume increase mod at Bescot's Mini Mods (Sound balancing & Route bloom adjustments) - Train Sim Community you can try this mod if it works on tsw3 Norfolk Southern ES44AC Sound Fix - Train Sim Community
https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...s/i2472-horseshoe-curve-locomotive-audio-mods There's the engine sound mod from griggs. He also has a ton of other American engine sound mods. All sound mods from tsw2 work in tsw3. I have them all installed and they work. The engine version hasn't changed so the sound mods work
In general, any mod for TSW2 post Rush Hour (UE 4.26) will work in TSW3, unless it's a mod to something that has been changed (like the reworked SEHS route).
Sorry for digging up an old thread but I'm trying to find out if Grigg's Horseshoe Curve Locomotive Audio Mods still works with TSW3. It was updated a couple of weeks ago and shows only TSW4 for compatibility. Thanks.
The link I put above is for the tsw2 and 3 version and it's worked fine for me. 2 and 3 uses the same unreal engine version
Thanks. That's the page I'm looking at and it now says it was updated 13 days ago and lists TSW4 under Compatibility. Are older versions archived somewhere?
There are checkboxes to select whether you want 2, 3 or 4. 2 will work with 3. If you want an older version of a mod, then you would have needed to saved it yourself since modders tend to replace the pak with the newer version
I don't have HSC but was considering buying it on sale. Reviews indicate the default ES44 sounds are not good. I guess I could get the route and try out the mod. Are the default sounds really that bad?
They are, nothing like a GEVO-12. Absolutely nothing. I'm using a mod recommended by Schnauzahpowahz, not sure which one atm, but I've repak'd it to be TSW4 compatible.
Wow, you're not kidding! I just watched his original review of HSC. Sounds like a sewing machine with a low rumble. He recommended the Griggs mod for the engine sounds. Is it possible to repak it back to TSW3 compatible? I'm not sure it's worth getting without the mod.
