Hello everyone. First time here in the off-topic forum. I think my favourite EMU is the 323. My favourite Electric loco is the 92, DMU is the 221, Diesel loco is the 66 and steam engine is the LMS Jubilee. some more honorable mentions are the Class 319, Class 350, Class 67, Class 375,7,87, Class 700 and the Class 45. Mine is pretty weird but i like the modern ones more.
My favourite loco' is the Deltic (Class 55). I was aware of them but didn't even see one until I first came to County Durham. Moved here in '81 and saw only the last six months of their mainline service long after they were displaced from top link work by IC125s. We could see the ECML between the south end of Durham station and Redhills cutting from where we lived. It was an uphill start from the station and any train could be heard to work hard but the Deltics really to let you know about it. It's been a while since I put a link to this so I think I'll get away with it: Skip to about 18:00 and turn the speakers up for the full, "get back dogs- here comes a real loco'" effect. There's a moment at 11:50 I like to think of as Sinfonia Napier.
I'd say the Class 47. UK-produced, capable of handling a diverse range of services. Sounds a bit more like a beast, which it is, except on hills where its top speed is 21 mph.
From a TSC driving point of view... All of them.. From a real life spotter/enthusiast... None of them, I'm not into trains irl.. I do love the sound of the Class 66's though as I hear them most nights idling..
Are we talking TSC or real life? For TSC I vote:- No 1 Diesel - AP Class 37 (the clag master) No.1 Electric Loco - AP Class 86/87 tap changer gems. No.1 EMU - AP Class 411/412 (possibly the best ever EMU produced for TS No.1 DMU - AP 205 Thumper, just gorgeous all round DMU / EMU For Steam it has to be the BMG Black 5 or basically any BMG steamer, they are all amazing. The 9F,8F, Royal Scot, Rebuilt anything, they are all amazing.

As I drive steam exclusively, that's all I can comment on. I drive a wide variety of British steam, from many railway companies, pre-grouping to BR. As a general rule of thumb, I favor tank-locos and smaller tendered locos. I rarely drive large late-steam-era locos. While I don't know that I can single out one British steam loco as my all-time favorite, one I return to time and time again is Caledonia Works' CR 439 0-4-4T. With its add-on pack, which I own, it sports a wide variety of liveries. Being released a few years ago, it doesn't use the most recent SimNation Locomotion scripting, but remains fun to drive. It's an ideal loco for branch line stopping passenger runs as well as suburban runs. Here it is in my three favorite liveries: CR Photographic Grey: LMS Weathered Crimson: Weathered BR Lined Black (which could have been any of the other Weathered Black liveries): As an honorable mention of a tendered loco, I'm rather taken with the recently released/purchased CW Southern Railway SR U Class 2-6-0. It's seen a variant representing one specific preserved U Class. It's the only variant supplied with a selectable beamed front light, making it particularly enjoyed for evening/night runs:
