    Platform: PC Steam
    Loco Name:Br182 Dispolok
Step-by-Step Instructions: In darkness and tunnels, instruments are completely blinded by background lighting (also MFD buttons too). Even if I turn the brightness all the way down, it's still illegible. If I leave it on and come out of the tunnel into natural light, the LZB target speed and kN% are completely dark. Oh, and the SIFA sound is also very quiet. 20221005021014_1.jpg 20221005021039_1.jpg 20221005021111_1.jpg

It's terrible... releasing this at this state, as the first proper DLC for TSW 3, it is astonishingly bad...Even though it drives ok.

Repeating topic when it comes to DTG... what happened with testing of this thing? You don't have to be a rail expert to notice that the gauges are barely readable at night (where most of the services are run), that the SIFA announcement is barely audible, or that it doesn't work as substitution on other routes...

First review I have written on steam for a long time....

When the very first red Rapid Transit Taurus was released for TSW 2020 everything was okay, the brightness of the speedometer and the instruments were not coupled, both could be set independently. Then TSW 2 and later Hamburg Lübeck with the black MRCE Taurus were released. All of a sudden the red Taurus had no working speedometer and instrument backlight anymore and on the black Taurus you couldn't turn them off at all. The green backlight was so narrow that you couldn't see anything on the speedometer, no matter how bright you set it. Someone who has no idea fiddled with the settings and since then all the speedometers and instruments on all Taurus are too bright and in extremely poor quality as we know them now.

EDIT: This is how it looked in TSW 2020 (brightest setting):

been having this exact same issue with the HHL 182, it’s completely put the 182 into the unplayable area, especially on Kassel Würzburg services

Theres a brightness setting control next to it but it don’t do anything

    XSX console

It's not that somebody messes that up, it happens. It's that DTG does not care about these small and easily fixable issues AT ALL. They simply break it and then leave it broken forever. If they fixed it, nobody would complain that it was broken in the first place. And this is just one of dozens of broken, previously working things, and absolutely nobody cares.

btw. I loved 182 in the original TSW 2020, but in TSW2+ the rolling sounds are so messed up that I haven't driven it since. Absolutely dead product now, but with a little effort it could be one of the best addons. Such a mess.

I’ve been wanting to drive the long freight services at night with the 182 on SKW, but the instrument lights make it too unbearable for me at the current state their in.

I wonder if DTG has abandoned any fixes on this DLC? Hopefully a communication in the next roadmap.

The fact that we lost the preservation crew aswell is also a huge contributing factor. This would have probably been ironed out in one of the preservation cycles and then retrofitted onto the newest iteration of the loco :/. Cheers

I'm assuming there will be a mod for this soon, as there has been for other gauges with similar problems.

It has still not been fixed and no changes have been made. It's been 4 months, how long does it take to fix it ? I am patient.

For some reason this thread has been moved to the Train Sim World Discussion thread if someone can move it to the Technical Reports thread where it was originally I would appreciate it!

This should go to the technical report section and the reason for it is that Dispolok Baureihe 182 it's simply rebuilt from the existing Rapid Transit version. What the development team should improve Dispolok Baureihe 182 it's actually rebuilding it from a related Locomotive of the same category the Austrian ÖBB Baureihe 1016/1116.

DTG sweeps this DLC under the carpet. We'll probably never see a fix. We go back to the defects of DTG's past...
Sad but since the release of TSW 3, the quality of DLC has dropped. :(

    1. Reskin old locomotive you have made 3 years ago
    2. Don't bother fixing any of the issues with it
    3. Sell it
    4. Profit

There must be a black hole under the carpet that sucks up all the problems and makes them disappear into the void,
otherwise I wonder how many square kilometers the carpet must have. :D

You are spot on the correct way of doing this locomotive is actually making it off Österreich Bundesbahn Baureihe 1016/1116. Otherwise they would just keep doing the same cycle to make the Austrian Österreich Bundesbahn Baureihe 1016/1116 which is basing them off Rapid Transit 182.

And the worst part is that DTG managed to destroy the BR 182 even more.... Just for a reskin. How is that possible?!

And all this while selling it to us without any remorse... and with a smile. I admit, with a smile, throwing money out the window for a trash DLC, it goes better. DTG's marketing is well established and I'm the first pigeon!

Spot on and that explains why Dispolok 182 is just recycled RT182. If DTG wants to make a newer 182 use The Austrian 1116/1016 as the base model. If left unchecked DTG will even destroy the 182 ES64U2 family by reusing RT182 for the HMA Railjet KWG SKA Nightjet OBB trains including their native routes Mittenwaldbahn Innsbruck Garsmich Munchen Hbf SFS Innsbruck Rosenheim.
