Whoever suggested this needs to supply a lot more information such as stations and rolling stock to show us what we’d get for our money just suggesting route doesn’t tell us anything
So the hazel grove - Blackpool Line is a route located in the north west of england that starts in manchester and goes up to preston and further up to blackpool north . it is around 50 miles and has a ton of rolling stock. the route has a 1hr 45 minute run time and has the 319s as the primary rolling stock. trains included should be: Class 319s (Northern) Class 331s Class 321s Pacers. This route should be set in 2020
I would suggest to avoid the "Manchester Piccadilly should be a lot busier" issues they could start it at Manc. Oxf. Rd and go from there.
Oh yes definitely awesome it be nice to have a pacer in tsw3 hopefully with awesome Armstrong powerhouse work on the audio
The 319s and 331s would be as the base trains, 321s never ran on this route when Northern used them and the Pacers would be DLC, the route would have to be set either pre-pandemic (2019) or post-pandemic albeit with less services than pre-pandemic (2021-2022)
tbh i don’t really know which rolling stock could be added but yea my bad, i’m not familiar with all northern trains
No worries, that's fine, yeah Northern's 321s and 322s were deployed around Leeds so nowhere near Bolton
This is why I suggested starting away from Piccadilly DTG making a 9 car train (ie each individual carriage) just to go from Piccadilly as AI would be a thankless task
How about making it in the diesel era with Class 104's or 108's, which came into Preston from Manchester heaving to the gunwales with passengers heading to Blackpool, almost impossible to get on?. You also had the through Inter City service from Euston to Blackpool, every two or three hours worked by a Class 47. Go back a few more years and you could have a summer Saturday service when seasonal trains arrived Blackpool North from all over the UK with a complete pot pourri of motive power. Given DTG seem to have gone back to shorter routes, a more realistic proposition would be Preston to Blackpool North, but with the branch to Blackpool South via Lytham also included.
maybe they could use 220s? or they release the route as it is and when a wcml route involving manchester comes out, scenery gets added
i agree with you, but i feel like dtg lacks british AC electric routes, just diesels, steam and DC Electrostars
Excellent idea and if you want diesel trains my suggestion Calder Valley Line if made gives 158 156 150/2 & 195 on Blackpool to Preston section of the route
