sorry I must be missing something.
There must be a button to change between the different brake systems. I just can’t find it . All stocks .
The only way I can do it now is by standing up and sitting down again.
This can’t be right can it

Did you bother to read the users' manual?

The manual that's included in the game you mean? Oh, wait, that's right, there isn't a manual included with the game, and no mention of the different brakes in any of the tutorials.

Somewhere in the game itself? I know they're available online.

Ingame: Options -> Controller -> Command or Setup (actually I have the italian language...)
Generally the Automatic brake (in some locomotives Train brake or Drive brake and in someone else it include also the Electric brake: double brake system included in one command: Train brake, like for example in the DB BR 185 locomotive) is the main brake for all locomotives, the main and the most 'ordinary' performance brake of all locomotives. Usually you can use the Direct or Manual brakes to adjust the speed and to manage the trains at the low speeds (of if the main brake dont work). The most powerful 'not ordinary' brake obviously is the Emergency brake and you can activate/disactivate it also with D-Pad down direction.

And you cant miss to localizate while is the main brake 'cause in the Hud you can see the same icon for all the trains (swap with 'X' until you see the Hud brake icon with the black point in the middle: this is the locomotive main brake).

If you write on Google something like "Train Sim World GWE manual" you'll receive as result the link to the GWE pdf manual of the route: http://store.steampowered.com/manual/577350

Note: on Steam there are very detailed pdf manuals (you can also download it on your console Files Manager) for all the route/Dlc of TSW
