Route Key stations Coventry > Stechford > Birmingham International > Birmingham New Street > Sandwell & Dudley > Wolverhampton = 32 miles Currently in BCC, we are using the Derby lines and Gloucester lines at Birmingham New Street which is the “high” side of the station (platforms 8-12). This route suggestion would utilise the other half of the station, Coventry lines and Stour lines (platforms 1-7) making full use of the station. I would also like to see the Grand Junction lines which is the lines either side of Aston that we don’t currently use in BCC. These are used by Avanti West Coast services during diversions (I.e when the Trent valley is shut) and also used by LNWR commuter services. Grand junction lines: Stechford > Aston > Perry Bar > Bescot Stadium > Walsall/Wolverhampton = 16 miles You also have the Soho lines which makes the Birmingham to Wolverhampton route a figure of 8 so you can go around and around in circles which is useful for Empty Coaching Stock movements to get them out of the way or can be used by passenger trains if there is disruption on the line. Traction Several operators use these lines: 1) CrossCountry Voyagers (Class 220/221): Bournemouth to Manchester services 2) Avanti West Coast Pendolinos (Class 390) and Voyagers (Class 221): London Euston to Scotland via West Midlands services 3) LNWR/WMR Desiros (Class 350): Stopper services between Coventry/Birmingham and Wolverhampton/Walsall including running via Duddeston and Bescot Stadium 4) TFW Sprinters (Class 158): Birmingham International to Shrewsbury services
It would be good to see these extra lines and get a bit of extra traffic into New Street for BCC owners, but I'm not sure how this would be an extension, since New Street / Duddeston / Aston is the only overlap point. This would surely be DLC in its own right.
Bring it on! This looks like a great suggestion for TSW! Love the trains that you have included! I'd be very greatfull to see any of them!
There are SO SO SO MANY routes that need improving and genuine extensions- we don't need the most recent route to be updated.
I'd honestly say no to that. Gwml needs more routes but id rather a cornish one then out of Paddington again. I was more referring to ecw, ttv, to some extent ntp, wcl, iow (steam) and even to some extent bml to London Bridge. - gwe is a near perfect route in most aspects, perfect for all players, fun and unique trains, realism route length is the only real issue and honestly does it really change much? I'd say no.
i want a london to cardiff route so bad, i used to see my cousin all the time, would be nice to see our local station in tsw
I want a GWE extension to be made but will it, no it won't because GWE is one of the oldest routes on TSW and would require a full rebuild of GWE, like how Rivet rebuilt Isle of Wight to make their Isle of Wight 2022 DLC
Great suggestion but if you don't mind me asking but if a wcml route was made in the same period would it be possible for the routes to be merged? As I think dovetail can merge routes like London commuter and ECW while keeping the original route. On the menu they could just add a ECW/london commuter which is a combined version of the routes with the timetables and rollingstock on the routes.
Absolutely agree with this proposal and for about merging purposes I wonder if it has to be sharing the same coordinate or something else? DLC trains class 805 & 730 DMU 196 freight class 99 or 88.
