If there is any Italian rail fans in this sub. Does Trenitalia ever use double trainsets for the ETR1000 “Frecciarossa”, like is it ever 16 cars on a route instead of only 8. For the length of the train (202 meters) I would expect it to double up sometimes on rushhour or does that just never happen. Especially on services from like Paris to Milan you wouldn’t expect an 8 car train

Very interesting and remember the Italian direct current pantograph Copper strip actually works on French 25kv 50hz wires because both France & Italy have 1.45m Pantograph strip use. The larger pantograph 1.95m Metalized Carbon on the train is actually used for direct current France 1.5kv DC and also ÖBB Infra DB Netz 15kv 16.7hz AC if you are able to look at it from the top
