I know there has been a lot of disappointment on here about the release of the Bahnstrecke Bremen to Oldenburg route. Lack of effective QA has spoilt a release which many were looking forward to. I was also looking forward to this route and was particularly excited by the BR110, the cab car and the layering from other DLCs. It would have normally been a day one purchase for me but I held back following some of the initial negative reviews on here.

The release of BBO in the state it was clearly damaged DTG’s reputation and you could say they only had themselves to blame for rushing out the release and for ineffective QA. However, although that was disappointing, I think their quick response with many of the issues being addressed in two patches within two days of release should be commended. I was also impressed with the response from some of those who were involved in the development of the locomotives and rolling stock and the timetable: Maik Goltz, cwf.green and joethefish. They have explained in a very clear way how elements were developed or modified and why things were done in a particular way.

Although not everything may have been corrected, enough had been done to persuade me to buy the route and I am enjoying it. The BR110 looks good with a very nice cab and great sounds. With the two patches for PC, I think the route is what should have been released in the first place. Hopefully, DTG will learn from this.

It's good they sorted it out, but none of that should really have been necessary and certainly not when the asking price has gone up to thirty quid. As it is, the damage is done and I won't be buying it until next year sometime in a sale.

    So everything’s totally fixed now?
I have every route but I’m really having a hard time pulling the trigger on this one with all the negative feedback + plus the price point is astronomical at full retail.

Obviously not.. Whether or not you agree, the employees at dtg have worked hard and put countless hours into the game. There may have been some ups and downs. So we should at least thank them for their work cuz they work long hours to make tsw

I wasn't particularly impressed by the price raise along with many others but if they were going to stick with it I agree we had to see an improvement in dlc quality. You can't shunt the price up and put a product out like that.

I know dtg talk about QA and the team etc but once again its like they've tested it with their eyes closed? Which is a shame because we do all want them to do well and produce good content. On paper and in the previews things look so good and I'm not sure how we lose so much between previews and then people getting their hands on it. Hopefully they can actually figure it out this time although they keep saying it'll improve

It seems odd to me how people feel the need to point out how much work gets put into the DLCs every time they get criticized. Because here's the thing, that's true of pretty much any game. Even some cheap licensed game from the 2000's probably had people working sleepless nights to get it out on time, especially considering the tight deadlines those type of games tended to have. Games where the developer genuinely put in no effort are the exception, not the norm. Therefor I think it's kind of insulting to other game developers to imply that you're expecting them to not put in the effort. Maybe a higher up wants to be lazy, but I never think that implies to the ground level artists and programmers, no matter the game. And I think anyone who's ever put any research into the development of a video game would agree with that assessment.

Yes I definitely think people at DTG put long hours in. No doubt there’s a ton of hardworking individuals there. I mean no offense to you or anyone at dtg when I ask if the products been fixed. I have supported them with my wallet fully to this point. But unfortunately that’s just not relevant to the quality of the product (I put long hours into baseballs and I’m still objectively terrible at it lol). Just trying to sort out whether or not I want to drop full clap on this thing.

I think the whole point of the price hike was to keep the same level of quality but ask more money for it, and call it 'inflation correction' just like the rest of the world is currently doing (Except for paychecks, somehow those stay exactly like they were... Very strange, yes.).

On a different note: I was wholly unaware of the problems with this route and bought it on saturday. I've been having tons of fun with it, and would recommend it to fans of German content. There's tons of layers, and a heap of special or strange moves and consists on this route. AI traffic is adequately busy, the 110 and n-Wagen are great fun to drive, the 155 looks stunning in its new blue livery, and the 425 provides fun short drives for when you don't have as much time. All in all, I think it's a great DLC!

So is the route good now, after the patches? I have been thinking about getting TSW3, and this route seemed like a great reason to do so, but the complains about all the issues were quite worrying.

I think things need to be read in context. If I had read the bug thread concerning Cross City before getting the route I likely wouldn't have bought it. However whilst there are issues with the route, the whole experience of the route is by far a positive one.

This is my experience with BRO as well. It is a wonderful German route with many layers and nice AI as well as some engaging timetable runs. The 110 is an excellent drive and my new go to German loco.

The important thing is that the bug fixes are being rolled out far faster than before.
    This is a major improvement.
Let's hope it continues with subsequent releases.
