I'm not going to pretend to understand what Adam said about the Peninsula Corridor and what the issues are in that route. Because honestly I listened back to the explanation for the lack of an updated timetable, and the problems they are having, and I honestly got lost just a few minutes in, and simply do not understand what the technical issues are. However, it did sound like Adam and his team are struggling immensely with trying to get the timetable to work right. But the issues he tried to explain make no sense to me. I'm not even going to try asking, given the questions in my head make even less sense than what Adam's explanation was. But i did understand that his team is struggling to find a solution and a solution is extremely hard to find. Knowing this info, I found myself asking an impossible question. Impossible, because I highly doubt it will happen, both because the NEC New York route is still locked in TSW2020, and likely will never be unlocked, and I doubt the team that small would devote the resources to do what my question is asking. Given the Peninsula Corridor is causing such headaches for adam and his team, and we have since that release gotten another route with a loco and cab in the same consist, Boston Sprinter, that didn't get it's timetable destroyed by the upgrade to TSW3, would it be worth the effort to totally scrap the Peninsula Corridor, and do a total rebuild of the route? I obviously don't know how the teams work in the office, nor will i pretend to know, but as an end user, who can't play the Peninsula Corridor because of the problems it has with the timetable, and with it sounding like Adam and his team can't or are struggling really hard to find a solution to the timetable problem, I think a more logical, if impossible solution would be to give up on the route, scrap the old version, and rebuild it from scratch, and build it from San fransico, all the way to Gilroy, and not ending the route at San Jose. I also feel it would be prudent, that this time, given we have the extra locos for the route, that the route be built with those locos in the timetable from the start, and should someone decide to buy the locos separately or all at once, that the timetable doesn't explode if loco's are missing or if they're added, they won't cause something to go wrong. Like I said, this is just something I was thinking about given the seemingly very challenging problems adam's team seem to be facing. I have this feeling they don't know what the solution to the problem is, and while it will take way longer, I am thinking rebuilding the route from scratch might be a more logical solution than trying to fix a route that seems to have more bugs than it is worth fixing. Just my two cents on the route's status.
Just being realistic. This probably won't happen since dtg are busy making new routes. They won't have the time to rebuild an already made route from scratch. And the task is kinda too large for Adam and his team remaking the route. And it definitely won't be free.
I don’t think the route needs a total rebuild - it’s still one of the best looking routes in the game and the Pres Crew have done a decent job making it look even better. They definitely need to sort the timetable issues out because most of the services are missing at the time of writing. They definitely need to make the F40PH and Baby Bullet louder both outside and inside the cab (especially with the windows open) as they don’t sound as good as they did on TSW 2020. They also need to fix the crossings because some don’t work and maybe add whistle boards so we know when to sound the horn on approach to crossings.
I agree with you on making the loco's louder. But there are whistle boards on the route. They are marked "X" instead of "W" to indicate a crossing.
