Yes it does, hopefully it’s something new and not a 314

By the traction motor sounds it's a Hitachi and by the looks, it's a ScotRail train so I think it could be a 385.

Wasn't it a gameplay pack rather than route or have I got wrong end of stick?
Either way anything that layers onto Cathcart dullsville to bring it to life If these do would be a treat

Rivet are doing both a route and a gameplay pack mate so I would assume this is alluding to the unit included in the route as their gameplay pack is using steam traction according to the roadmap code.

They're working on a new AC UK route, the gameplay pack is due to come out after the route according to the last roadmap stream. Codes hint that the gameplay pack will be something with steam traction.

    Edit: matt#4801 ninja'd me! :D

Rivet already has some Scottish TSW experience through their work on Cathcart Circle, so I’m quite excited for this!

Users on Twitter seem to be suggesting the location of the video might be Linlithgow Station. Looking at pictures, that elevator building does look incredibly similar, even down to the low railings on the left. Following a quick look on Apple Maps, trains servicing this station appear to be going between Edinburg and Glasgow or Dunblane.

If it is (super detective work by all involved) then I'd expect it to be the Edinburgh to Dunblane line, which runs Class 385s and perhaps not-so-coincidentally runs through Stirling which is where Rivet are based.

It's probably going to be that. There's only soo much rivet can do with 1 locomotive even with layers which might save it. They're a small team and quite expensive to make more than 1 loco lol

If nothing else it does mean I can re-use another spot on my bingo card though.

Having said that, that line also runs ex-GWR Class 43s so perhaps now it's gone through the livery editor process it will be easier for Rivet / DTG to apply the Scotrail livery and some new moquette for a different driving experience to the 385.

Interestingly also runs Class 170s, much like a certain Brummy line that was conspicuously missing them recently - Class 170 pack with two liveries and services on this and BCC? (Speculating wildly as ever.)

    Sound similar to you?

I'm not 100% but I think this might be the same station as Rivet with a 387 flyby at about 49secs in the video below

I have the route Glasgow to Edinburg in TSC and it wasn’t electrified back then. When did it get it? Route looks to be close to 49 miles

I believe electrification started around 2010 and the first electric services started in 2017.

So it wasn’t that long. The route looks good. Looks like it has room for freight services and hopefully it includes the haymarket depot

    Just asking,
Isn't this the same route you get in the demo of Open Rails ? ( with push-pull class 27's )

Looks good, hopefully the unit sounds good.
Are there any possible layers (66, RHTT i guess)?

Glasgow - Edinburgh would be a good route. Back in the 80's it was populated with 47/7s and DBSo push pull working which I went on several times as well as an excellent visit to Eastfield depot. Now a shadow of its former self.

    FB_IMG_1671612009661.jpg

If I remember rightly at launch they did say RHTT will layer in on new UK routes (modern ones).
    So yeah we shall see.

If it is Edinburgh to Glasgow, good route but another modern plastic push to go EMU, really not that hyped. Give us the 47 and DBSO formations or even better the top and tailed Class 27 on push pull working. The Class 101 DMU could layer in on the stopping services.

Each to their own, though frankly I would even have taken the Class 158 era over modern electric (with the caveat that Rivet would probably bork the sound and physics).

The EMU we might be getting (either the 380 or 385 depending on the exact route they go for I guess) at least looks kinda unique with the “angled” front instead of another blocky one, so that wouldn’t be a huge issue for me. Looking at the Wikipedia article, there might be cool layering opportunities as others have already mentioned. I sure hope Rivet finally decide to implement the HST after sort of ignoring it on West Cornwall.

It is worth noting the distance between Edinburgh and Glasgow is so much longer than any route Rivet has done in the past. I genuinely think they could be doing it since they haven’t released a full add-on in almost a year and have considerable experience with Scottish content. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they cut the route short at some point. Which would be a huge disappointment and missed opportunity, but probably still bring us Rivet’s longest route to date. Praying for the full Edinburgh-Glasgow line!

Here are a few cool Wikipedia articles I found yesterday:
    • Lists all the types of rail connections between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Kinda cool, I don’t think I’ve seen such a multitude of routes between destinations before. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glasgow–Edinburgh_lines
    • Detailing the line going through Falkirk High, which might be the route they’re going for given its services stop at Linlithgow. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glasgow–Edinburgh_via_Falkirk_line
    • Class 385. Our prime candidate because of its regular service between the two cities. Apparently two units are coupled for these journeys… perhaps noticeable in the blurry teaser? The Wikipedia article also mentions operations out of Glasgow Central and on the Cathcart Circle line, so maybe there’s a layering opportunity for the Special Projects team here. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_385
    • Class 380. Appears to have tons of services on Cathcart Circle, but only operated between Glasgow and Edinburgh for a short while a few years back… ironically because the 385 was delayed. So I guess we’re getting the 385 unless they’re going for some other route through Linlithgow we don’t have on our radar. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_380
    • Bonus regarding Rivet’s Expansion Pack: The Bo’ness and Kinneil heritage railway branches off the line west of Linlithgow. Keeping Rivet’s announced expansion pack in mind and considering these packs usually put new rolling stock on existing track (which would not be the case on the Isle of Wight as that heritage line was never fully built by the developers), perhaps this branch line will be included with the route and later be filled with heritage stock by the expansion pack? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bo'ness_and_Kinneil_Railway

This is looking very similar to the Bo’ness and Kinneil heritage line I mentioned above:
