this route has just been announced for PC. Wow! My type of thing exactly, and something ‘up north’. Hopefully comes to PS4 soon (and not too expensive) https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-sim-world/articles/article/power-up-the-pennines
In time for Christmas I hope. Set in 1983, so no generic industrial estates. Instead the old mills and power stations.
I will get this one. These old diesels are class! I would have liked a 37 but I will def take these. The 47 is great as we know from WSR
Yes it is i saw it on the ps4 community.. im annoyed though because it seems tsw are doing everything not to give me something modern and familiar
I feel the same, I was hyped that a Leeds - Manchester route is in development but slightly disappointed that it’s set in the 80’s. I’d kill for a East Midlands Trains update and although Sheffield - London St Pancras isn’t doable, I’d take Luton & Luton Parkway to St Pancras using the Class 222.
Totally agree with you mate. I loved the sound of Liverpool Manchester until I found out it was set in the 80s As for East Midlands trains, Luton to St Pancras would be awesome!
As a kid of the 70’s/80’s this era is what I remember so for me it’s very nostalgic. Over time we’ll all get a route that we have been waiting for I’m sure. Hang in there
Think the problem with getting dlc done. Not only is this 80s time period popular. The modern day routes involve negotiations with the TOC’s for access to the trains and the right to represent their liveries.
Yes I've got a feeling that DTG don't have a license for East Midlands trains and possibly Northern too so that would have made setting it in modern day difficult.
Not being especially fond of passenger runs, I have to wonder whether freight (especially shunting) will play any part in this route.
I believe a freight add-on has been scheduled for this route. TrainSim-Steve said on another thread: "...However, the freight element (which will be a separate add-on in the form of a loco pack) is heavily in development and we'll be taking you through this at the appropriate time. So for all you freight lovers out there, we're certain you'll love what we have coming."
Saw this is out for pc next week and they get the usual £5 off for preorder. Why oh why do we not get this? I don’t believe for an instant that the steam store works different to ps store etc etc
Apparently one is the differences is that Steam allowed preorder discounts while Sony and Microsoft don’t allow it. According to DTG
Havent got a clue and all seems to be quiet on the console front at the moment. I sure hope theres a suprise for us on the following Tues/Weds. Maybe theyre waiting to put the 33 and NTP in the same download.
Completely agree. So far us console users will have paid an extra £15/$18 if you bought all DLC so far (WSR, Ruhr Sieg and LIRR) just because they don't want to give us a preorder discount. And if a preorder discount is so hard on PS or Microsoft store then the discounted price should be the standard price considering consoles won't get access to the editor and with it a stack of extra content.
Bear in mind that many PC users paid significantly more for the game and first few DLCs than console users did. Probably at least twice as much, if not more.
They paid more than £39.99 for the base game? How much was it? Rather than do theses discounts and annoy people/alienate half the player base, they should just set it at one price across the board. Not marketing genius just common sense
That’s actually correct. The base game for PC originally cost $39.99 for just CSX Heavy Haul. Each additional DLC all the way through NEC New York was $29.99 each. So it’s possible that someone paid $130 in total for something that now cost $60
Exactly. I bought all the DLC upto & including NEC at full price and spent significantly more than the ‘base game’ cost for the consoles.
I'll be all over this for my PS4. Would love a Manchester to Blackpool North run along with Preston North to Edinburgh.
Manchester to hull via leeds with captions. modern day I wish TSW had captions when passing certain lines and buildings and yards
One thing is immediately apparent- DTG need to put a lot more rubbish on the ground in their textures A very enjoyable watch Dave, thanks for posting.
Saw there was a fix for the class 33 in the patch we are getting. I asked Steve about it in the News & Updates section
They announced the Long Island winter update today, which should appear in the next 24h. Take a look at the news section for more information.
Yes just seen it, but yet another 3 gig for lirr. Not a complaint about it being fixed. Just seems odd. Never had fixes this close together and the 33 stuff makes me doubt its for ps4
Have you noticed now tho that the platinum trophy has moved to 0.1%. So someone somewhere has it. Has the patch fixed them? Who knows
The platinum for the base game I mean. Complete all services have been bugged since the start. Hoping we don’t have to do them all again, as much as I like the game I can’t face that
Yes we need a class 37 and or freight stock, i mean it was a rare site in the 80s not to see plenty of MGRs floating around or tank trains!! Come on dovetail
Would love that, and talking of st pancras, the 395 (southeastern high speed) would have to be part of the plan for me!
