I would like to see an expansion and or addition to U.S Freight Railroad options . Addition to existing route maps , and or creating new maps that could be a different division or subdivision oof the same Railroad. Plus a variety of power in the locomotive pool. I listed some choices below . Feel free to add comments on suggestions on route map additions and new route map creations.
All of the above. That's my vote. I really want to see FM Trainmasters, other FMs, Alcos, Baldwins, and early EMD E, F, and Geep units. Also, I would love to see the SP and D&RGW Krauss-Maffei ML4000s and the UP Gas Turbines. Some fantastic US freight route ideas: -PRR Horseshoe Curve w/ Trainmaster, Centipede, Sharknose, RSD15, RS3, SD7/9, GP7/9, etc. -WP Feather River Canyon (1960s-70s) w/ U30B, GP20, GP35, or GP40/GP40-2, and FP7/F7B w/ California Zephyr consist -UP Sherman Hill in the 1950s-60s w/ Gas Turbines, GP7/9s, SD24s, & E7, E8, or E9 A/B, etc. -Conrail HSC w/ SD45/SD45-2, GP40-2, C39-8, SD80MAC, C44-9W, C40-8/C40-8W, etc. -Tehachapi Pass in the 1950s-60s, 1980s-90s, or modern -D&RGW Soldier Summit or Moffat Route (1970s-90s) w/ SD40T-2, SD7/9, SD50, SD45, GP7/9, GP60
B36-7 would be a great addition, same with GP30s or Addition of slugs or road slugs. Maybe switchers for yard switching or working hump..
I keep suggesting more Canadian content... we have a pretty cool variety of routes and locomotives that would be unique in this game... Routes: White Pass & Yukon - northern narrow gauge, British Columbia Railway - in the 1970s with their two tone green locos and cabooses Rocky Mountaineer - passenger service between Vancouver and Jasper / Banff Canadian Pacific or Canadian National Western Canadian routes - with grain haul branch lines and heavy haul mainlines Ontario Northland or Algoma Central - both also have passenger services There's a few various Quebec based heavy haul routes stemming off the Saint Lawrence River Newfoundland Railway - a CN owned historical narrow gauge route now defunct Locomotives: SW1200RS yard switchers, GMD-1 Road Switchers (prairie light rail) MLW C424 GP40-2W (unique wide cab variant) CP style chop nose GP9s (unique number boards) The "Turbo Train" commuter train Bombardier locomotives of VIA Rail Another option would be some private industrial railways with their unique odd ball switchers and rebuilds. Bring the SW1000 back for use in other routes. Pretty much all railways had them in their yards and some still do. I would also like to see the NRE Genset 3GS21B locomotives in this game (CSX and others) as they are a non standard type of unit that you don't see everyday and would be fun to operate IMO. Having said all of this though, I do like the idea of the Alaska Railroad being playable. Though once again - another mountainous route. I think there is a desire from many for some old fashioned mixed freight plying the single track or local routes. All this modern heavy haul monster locomotive stuff is drowning the variety out and becoming repetitive. I honestly think there is enough US routes for now and some Canadian quaintness would be welcomed.
Indeed!!! I keep looking at the one in the teaser images for Horseshoe Curve and wishing it were in the game as more than a museum piece.
All of the above and the CSX SD50 it can be the freight locomotive for my proposed NJ Transit route RVL with it running Newark Oak Island Yard to Bound Brook, NJ Transit station freight tracks. RVL layers for Newark, NJ oak island yard to Bound Brook, NJ BNSF Cajon SD40-2 ES44C4 2020 build Norfolk Southern HSC ES44AC GP38-2 CSX SPG AC4400CW SD40-2 & GP38-2
What i want? more Class I railroads and maybe some Class III's too? For example KCS or CP if we are talking about Class I's.
Also, I want GP60s/GP60Ms/GP60Bs, ET44s, C44-9Ws, SD70Ms/SD70MACs, more SD70ACes/SD70M-2s, SD70ACe-T4s, Siemens Chargers, P42DC Genesis, P32-8BWHs, B40-8Ws, CW60ACs/C44ACMs, Genset Switchers, SD45-2s, SD60s/SD60Ms, SD59MXs, and Another great route with passenger operations as well: Brightline/FEC Miami-West Palm Beach (plus extensions later on) with Siemens SCB40 Chargers, ES44C4s, and GP40-2s/-3s.
High-nose versions of the gp30 & 50 and the SD-9? Yes please, too many low noses, or too many of the same ones. High-nose all the way.
