I finally unlocked the Jeep inside the new holiday express DLC and I honestly love the fact that I can drive a vehicle alongside my train if I wanted too. I think if dovetail finally figures out the Collision barriers, they can potentially put a drivable vehicle in every route which would be really cool. I would find this necessary after completing a service especially if you arrive at a station and there's no train present or any ready for departing service. I could just simply hop in a car and go to another station to start a new service without exiting the game. What are you guys think? I wanted to drive the Jeep so bad I decided to drive 2 hours on the first scenario at 45 mph just to get the 80 mi in one go LOL results well worth it!
OK, you just sold me on this add-on... because not only am I a railway fanatic but I am also a Jeep fanatic!!! Damn you DTG!!!! These are my two (2005 & 1946) ...
I have had more than 15 people tell me They going to buy this after that I told them about this lol. You're going to love This DLC It just feels very refreshing and works Every way possible Hard to explain but You see what I'm talking about When you start to play
This would also be useful in American freight routes so you can get to areas faster when you are doing certain tasks like uncoupling and stuff. Since walking can take a while and if you don't want to use the camera, you could use a vehicle even if it's not safe or allowed lol
The Jeep leather is just a drivable toy car for now, but it has been said that the Christmas DLC is also a kind of tech demo and things may be carried over to real routes in the future. The elevators are also very useful, as almost all modern train stations now have elevators installed. When I think of US routes like Cajon Pass, the cool trucks immediately catch my eye. Would be nice to drive a round with a truck someday. But the forklifts could also be moved across the railway site...
Rail Replacement Bus Sim World anyone? Would love a vehicle to traverse the route outside of services though. It would make hunting route tasks a lot less tedious.
Definitely not a dumb question, And I used The scenario planner Which would be able to add five or six Trains You own From your collection. The only Trains You cannot add Are The ice, TGV And basically anything 150 metres.Hopefully Dovetail will add more options
Or for doing the route tasks as that is definitely a lot of walking! And even to just drive around and explore.
Well now this sucks for me.... I have no routes that have 100 mph trains so I can't even accomplish this Tier. I just tried 3 locos in the Training Centre and none would go over 78 mph... any ideas? The whole reason I bought this DLC was for the Jeep!
I think you’re looking at the 12 days of Christmas challenges. There’s a separate set for The Holiday Express DLC and they’re very manageable.
Oh, maybe I am, I did not realize this. Edit: After checking into what I was looking at you were right - I was on the wrong Mastery set. I am now "back on track" LOL ;-)
If you have got the 47 that goes like a bat out of hell when it's by itself. On WSR I got it upto 200mph
I only have North American stuff. Unless I put the disk in for TSW original and run one of the commuter trains but I don’t know if I can put that on the loop in the training center.
I wonder what would happen if you ran the Jeep into the train. Well time for some mastery challenges.
Surely something going down the grades of sand patch or Cajon pass will easily get upto 100? Or does it have to be within the speed limit?
I was worried about getting kicked for speeding on a scenario or timetable so... I actually ended up maxing out an SD40-2 in the training centre. Got'er up to 110 for about a minute or two then dropped the throttle and let it coast. It takes a long time to come to a stop!
Oh, and I finally unlocked the Jeep last night, but haven't had time to go look for it yet. We were doing Christmas eve so was busy with company.
