As there is in train simulator classic it would be cool if route building was introduced into train sim world 3 it would be good for people who want to build their own realistic routes I know for a fact this would take a very long time so not so sure this might be possible but i hope it's a good idea for the game or i would like to see route building in the future nothing much to say it's just an idea anyway, hope it's possible in the future. have a nice day.
Dtg have already said no several times and it's a much more complicated issue. The editor would only be for pc users since unreal engine is only on pc. So what would happen to console players since that would need a lot of work. Another issue is how everyone would be able to play the content, cuz if only pc players can play it, then console players are missing out. Therefore, dtg would have to make a content manager of some sort and that would be difficult. Another issue is licensing. The liveries are licensed and an editor allows people to create anything, including liveries dtg does not have the license to. How would this issue be handled? In the early stages, it could be handled quite easily, but it would be really hard to manage once lots of content start being made. If dtg creates an editor and allows unlicensed liveries to be made by the community, it can affect licensing opportunities with that company, meaning we as players would not be able to enjoy those liveries, trains and therefore routes. Don't want poor relationships with them after all. Some tocs don't want their liveries and trains in game and allowing players to create content breaks that. You could make the argument that Creator's club where there are possible thousands of liveries dtg do not have the license to. But, given how route building is an even bigger task, I would assume it would be a more serious issue
Yes yes yes and again yes, i really want that thing in TSW3. Along the contist builder ofc. (Both are in TSC so why not in TSW3?)
Consist editor is more likely and Matt has said he wants to do it at some point. For route editor, I listed several reasons why it's not a simple task.
I Think ur not getting the point i made i said its nothing to do with livery's i said such as building Ur own routes editing a route and adding Driveable/AI Trains to the editor just like train simulator classic. i know it will be hard to do. i know some train company's are copyrighted but the route building for what's in the game. and anyway this could come in the future. for some way how they do it.
Since I’m not familiar with TSC isn’t route building on the steam workshop not just Building the basics of a route then Making a few scenarios like 5-10. Wouldn’t they not also have to make 100 more services, add layers, fully model the train and the surrounding areas and more… I don’t think that would be easy in TSW as a sole person. I think we should leave that to devs and leave the route building in TsC.
I know that it would be hard to do. But i also find it crucial to have an actual route editor to be added to the game.
we are aware it's not a simple task so I would imagine if it did ever arrive in TSW it would be in the next installment of the games e.g TSW4 licensing shouldn't be much of an isssue as it is allowed in livery designer anyway and the thing is it probably would be possible to do dtg are just too lazy to implement it at least at the moment
Too lazy? Seriously? It costs them money to make the editor available for starters, and then they would be re-distributing Epic Games' software (Unreal). It would likely pose problems for console (or could lead to the end of the 'Console = PC' idea). Besides that, most TOCs don't want their brands being slapped everywhere. Yes, some allow themselves to be in livery editor, and more able to be shared on Creators Club, but they hardly want their stuff being slapped around. It could put off doubtful TOCs as well, I'd imagine. Although you'd really need to ask Matt. And really, I don't think the editor is the right way to go. I would, personally, rather DTG focuses on expanding the 3rd party network (which they are) so we see more content.
