So I decided I'd get myself TSW3 and a few DLCs in the Winter Sale, whilst taking leave from 'World of Warships'. Being a bit Belt & Braces, I thought I'd complete all of the Training, progress through the various Scenarios and some Mastery Challenges to earn my wings, then go out on a Timetable, however ...

I have not been able to achieve Tier 2 Mastery Challenge on the Glasgow Cathcart Circle (Fast-Track Ticket) which requires to complete a scenario after reaching 70mph - I think the maximum speed limit I've found is 50mph and there doesn't seem to be enough free track between stations to floor it?

I just can't complete the BR143 Introduction. The train gets held on a red light outside Priestwitz due to an AI freight train partway down the line, which is also on a hold. Being an older DLC from TSW2 (or earlier?) I'd have thought this would have been fixed or am I missing something? Anyway I did a little Youtube video just for 'fun'..

For the Cathcart challenge, you just have to go ahead and speed- nowhere is it "legal" to do 70. The Newton branch gives you the most open running. Remarkably, you can still slow down after hitting 70 and ace the service!

Thanks 'Bill', I'll give that a go - it seems daft that a SIM challenge would have you do something illegal in the real world, whereas it's to be expected in something like Grand Theft Auto ... :)

For Cathcart I believe the section of track which goes to the depot to/from Glasgow allows you to get to the required speed.
I may be wrong though as I haven't played Cathcart in ages.

That part of Catchcart I did not think about. Was also a bit irritated by having to bust the line speed.

And the BR143 introduction is incompletable in TSW3. It was completable in TSW2, but it broke when ported over to TSW3. The only workaround at the moment is to get TSW2, complete it there, and then import that profile into TSW3, but of course that's not really possible now that the store page is removed.

Yeah I have just checked and there is a small section between Shields depot and Glasgow that allows 75 though isn't long enough to get to 70 unless you speed in the section before it and brake hard and late for the limit after it.

Well, that was a hair-raising experience! I sped out of Glasgow Central at full throttle, ignored 3 or more speed warnings and just got to 70mph before I had to brake hard into Pollockshields West. As for the rest of the timetable, I can't believe it makes you wait for a departure time, then gives you only 20 seconds to make the next stop! It's no wonder the 'Weegie' train drivers look so stressed after they get to their destination... ;)
