Available now. You need WCML-North as the loco uses the Class 86 cab from that route https://backdatedtrainsim.weebly.com/rolling-stock.html
Well spotted and thanks for posting. Installed with no problems and the supplied scenarion ran well (thanks to LocoSwap). No expert but it looks good and it's nice to have another class, giving the WCML a bit more variety.
Thanks for the heads up on this one. Not a bad little addition to the stable, admittedly not quite AP 86 standard but I wouldn't expect it to be as a freebie. Thank you Backdated Train Sim for another classic stock addition to TSC.
Yup that channel is one of my Goto for reviews Alan thompson does good previews as well the best youtube channels for train sim i find. I hope i am in your list as well Reef :P
Why thank you kind sir perhaps i should do videos and upload them to youtube then you can add me to your youtube list as well haha :P
Should probably get back on track, my bad for assisting in the derailing, I wont diverge any further. (there, that's the rail puns out of the way). Haven't had a chance to drive it yet but wow after hearing her she sure screams. Can't wait to deafen myself even further than I already am.
We are well aware you do videos you mention it enough times. You’re not the only one who does it. You don’t see any of the others plugging channels in here, so constantly bringing it up in comments is not really needed.
Not sure that kind of comment is needed. Was merely pointing out how the thread had derailed into a Youtube promotion thread. Back to what I was originally going to post before that. The Class 85 looks interesting, and that video is one I need to check out. Asked a friend about the series, and apparently there were 81-84 as well.
yeah the 85s are really nice trains. Surprised only 40 got made. I imagine we can expect to see plenty of scenarios with them in due course on the WCMLS and ATS midlands route. Always welcome a new loco to train simulator and this was a nice surprise.
Yes, I naturally look forward to trying it out on the WCML myself when I get to it. I wound up scrubbing my first trip there but mean to go back and "fix" a lot of the scenarios, as many have issues of some form with timings, AI collisions, or other factors.
The Class 81 to 85 were prototypes as no other AC Electric traction existed in the UK in 1960 Each had their good and bad parts The Class 86 was ordered later and was built in 1965-1966 with improvements to the first series Which is why some 86s are still in service in different places
I've downloaded this but am 2 of the prerequisites required... Of the 2 missing prerequisites (1 is an AP wagon pack I think & can't check whilst I'm typing this!!!), the other is the IPA car carriers... Am I correct in presuming that the only way to get these is the buy the Class 67 pack??? I'm not really interested in 67's TBH but if its needed... The other question is can i "F2" through the missing requirements??? Eric
The prerequisites sound like they are for the scenarios only not for the actual loco to function, you can F2 them as long as they aren't part of the player train, the other thing you can do is LocoSwap them for something you do have
You can use LocoSwap to see what exactly is on the player train. If it's red and not on Steam, you may not be able to use the scenario. Even if you own it on Steam, check for the AP file containing it to verify that you have it.
When I load the scenario, it loads but there is no train or stock, just an empty station... Has anyone any idea what's going on please??? Eric
Hi Eric, Found the Scenario and tried to Edit it and the game crashes with this warning Not sure what is happening. Peter
I've only just seen this... not had much TS time lately, but just installed it. This is brilliant for WCML scenarios!
Eric, the main consist is the 85 (using an 86 cab) plus coaches, so you must be missing one other other of those to get the ‘empty lines’ result, as missing AI stock doesn’t stock the driver’s consist appearing and the scenario running. The only missing stock that came up for me was JT stuff, but I F2ed and continued. Sorry I don’t know who makes the coaches, not at PC to be able to check via TS Tools.
I personally didn't no, because I pretty much have everything except some AP goods wagons, but it would seem that they don't, as I just checked and it clearly states what is required.
Not sure which loco pulls them: it’s the JT car carrying wagon pack listed in the requirements posted by Pookey.
Hello all, Thought I would let you know that the class 85 has been updated today from v1.00 to v1.10. Changes made since v1.00: - new and better cab front model made and applied to all locomotives - small changes to physics so that locomotives can actually achieve their maximum design speeds. Redownload and reinstall from: https://backdatedtrainsim.weebly.com/rolling-stock.html No uninstallation required. Enjoy!
I've updated this and a few posts back reported I was having a few issues... As I'm on holiday this week, I thought it'd be an ideal opportunity to have a look at TSC... I thought I had the AP Mk3's, when I delved a bit deeper I found I didn't have it but have the Mk3 coach sound pack!!! (Doh!!!) Looks like I'll have to wait for the next AP sale... Can I swap the AP Mk3's for the "default" Mk3's that I have using Locoswap tool??? Eric
In theory, yes you can swap out the AP Mk3s with other Mk3s. But are the locos themselves working ok for you? If you have WCML North, then you should have everything required to run them without issue.
No... the only prerequisites I dont have are the AP Mk3's, the AP container wagons & the JT car carriers... When I load the scenario I have to F2 through it but end up with an empty station... Not sure whats wrong other than the 3 missing prerequisites... Eric
Forgetting the scenario for the moment, can you place the locomotive in a free roam scenario or something by itself?
If I try to open a quick drive or free roam, the 85 doesn't appear on any of the options... The only way I can get it to work was to create a custom consist (a light engine just for test purposes) then jump into a free roam (which was WCML North from Glasgow Central - Motherwell)... Still getting an "empty station" on the Trent Valley Scenario... Eric
That's bizarre. It might be worth trying a clean reinstall of the class 85. Find your Railworks installation folder, then go to Assets - BackdatedTrainsim , and delete the Class85 folder. The run the latest installer from the website again. Recommend that you download it to your downloads folder or somewhere else safe on your PC, rather than opening it straight off the internet.
Along with ticking the Class 85 did you also tick WCML- North? You need to to make it work even if you are not driving that route. The 85 worked in the WCML-N free roam you tried because it need the Class 86 for the inside bits.
I think Peter has it right. You have to include the pre-requisite DLC for the reskin - in this case, the WCMLN Class 86 - or you won't be able to run the 85 correctly, if at all.
