As somebody with zero knowledge of American railways can you add detail please: like specs, what routes they would be on etc

Would have at least wanted more detail. A suggestion should sell the idea of why this train or this route. Doesn't have to be super long or detailed, but I would recommend you to do some research so you can create a good suggestion. Write it all out in a separate document so you can work on it in your freetime and just copy and paste onto the forums.

The hhp8 would be more applicable to the northeast corridor although they do not run there anymore, so it could be set in an earlier date where the hhp8 ran. An amtrak version would be much more likely to happen. The Marc version would not be possible due to licensing reasons.

The MP54AC runs on go transit and only there I believe which also has licensing issues.

I don't think the sc44 runs regularly or at all on caltrain. So far, the specific loco runs on coaster, california dept of transportation, altamont corridor express, amtrak midwest and washington state department of transportation, marc. However, there aren't many of the sc44s in the roster, only a couple and some run long distance which wouldn't really add much gameplay wise. If you are looking at just siemens chargers in general, then there are several other routes you can choose from such as brightline, via rail, metro north. However, like other trains suggested, there are licensing issues with many of the operators. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siemens_Charger

The f59ph/f59phi don't really have anywhere to run really cuz I don't think many exist anymore due to more modern and efficient locomotives. Doesn't have a route set in the right era for it to run or the correct route at all. It could come with the pacific surfliner like train simulator classic did, but that is a really long route with not much to do, so I don't think it would add much gameplay wise.

I think they are great locomotives, but would most likely not be able to be made due to reasons listed above, except the hhp8 which could come.

Excellent idea but I might need to correct you on this one train
Loco cannot run on Harlem Line because of the electrical system used which is 750v DC Third Rail Bottom Contact. you need to make it something like Northeast Corridor Boston Providence in the late 2000s early 2010s
Harlem Line needs M9A should look identical to the one in the picture

The SC44's occasionally show up on the Capitol Corridor, which shares tracks with Caltrain between Santa Clara and San Jose. So In theory an Amtrak California SC44 could sub into Peninsula Corridor, which is what I think the OP was trying to suggest.

For CN Oakville or any additions to it :

GMD-1 road switcher typically used on light rail branch lines and in the western prairies but also found later in life in rail yards across the country performing yard duties before many were sold off to private owners and museums.

For any route with UP, BNSF, CSX, NS, CP Rail, &c :

NRE 3GS21B also meant for light rail, industrial, and road switching duties.

All these units IMO are unique and unusual enough to warrant representation and were / are all common at one time even into today's railroading.

I want the SD45-2 on an ATSF or BNSF route. Perhaps we could get an SD45-2B, the ATSF Bicentennial livery, and a BNSF SD32ECO rebuild version with an accurate 12-cylinder 710 prime mover sound. An ATSF U36C (or perhaps a rebuilt SF30C which is basically a C30-7) would be awesome, too.

SCB-40 Charger with Siemens venture coaches. Brightline currently uses these trains on their routes in Florida. Routes run from Miami to Orlando Florida. Routes can also incorporate CSX freight routes.

    Pennsy GG-1
    GP7 or 9 high-nose
EMD shovelnose E-unit (EA through E6)
    Baldwin "Sharknose" DR
    ALCO PA, FA or FPA

Note that these were all very common locomotives, not obscure oddballs like the DDA40X or GTEL.

Excellent choices and for DM30AC current tendency is to leave it on Third Rail until the last electric station. Ronkonkoma Branch via Central Branch service Z train turn on Diesel at Bethpage & Babylon then restore electric mode at Bethpage towards Ronkonkoma and while Penn Station bound power up third rail 750V DC at Babylon. P32AC-DM turn on Diesel power once outside the Tunnel while inbound turn on electric mode at Harlem 125th St rare cases all the way to the last Electric station.
    NJ Transit Version of P32AC-DM & DM30AC ALP-45DP 4500-4533 original build 2021 and up 4534 upwards
    [IMG]
NJCL services end diesel at Long Branch NY Penn Bound turn on electric mode at Long Branch
RVL Newark Penn Electric to NYC Diesel to High Bridge/Raritan
    Morristown Line Dover mode switch
    Montclair Line Montclair University station.
Electric mode at all times NEC Line
