Just been spending a bit of time with the Class 40, on WCL.

Have to say this is probably the best UK diesel in TSW (Class 45 a close second), the sounds are spot on including a lovely brake rub and the physics too. But sadly it is a little orphaned and alone, unless you specifically hunt it out. It doesn't have its own Journey mode and of course in reality although WCL gives the opportunity for a nice thrash, the loco is way out of place in West Cornwall. So two suggestions really to give this superb model the attention it deserves.

First is, give it a Journey mode on its native TSW route - North Trans Pennine.
Second, it's crying out for a BR 1970's/early 1980's route where it was the primary motive power and can be given a good run. North Wales Coast or part thereof is the obvious candidate and accompanied by a Class 25 (also layers for the existing Class 47) would have us old fart diesel heads reaching for our wallets on Day 1. I'd part with £40 for Chester to Holyhead (and Llandudno) with a 40 and 25 plus a nice selection of Mark One stock.

I remember many occasions on family holidays in the 70s and 80s myself and my brothers standing on our favourite footbridge over the North Wales coast route and waiting for a Class 40 to come along and give us a blast of heat and diesel fumes up the… erm, in our faces, as it thundered past below. Then it was down to the beach for sandcastles etc. and then legging it back up to the bridge if we heard another train approaching. Having that route in TSW would be great, and the Class 40 is a joy to drive on any route, and just requires more era appropriate content to really shine again.

I have Suggested a Calder Valley Line back around when NTP Takes Place, to act as a Sister Route,
I had chosen the Class 40 to be the Primary Locomotive of the route along with some freight services, mainly coal services,
