In the announcements thread. Physics improvements to SOS; stalled train traffic jam on London-Brighton fixed; platform lights on SEHS are now light-level triggered rather than timed; Class 20 is in Livery Designer. Many other smaller improvements. The following add-ons were modified on my computer: Tees Valley East Coastway SEHS London-Brighton Liverpool-Crewe Hamburg-Lübeck LIRR Class 20 M3 SEH DB Class 66
In reference to the following: Livery reskins should display in game as expected across player and AI traffic I still am not seeing any livery reskins at all on CJP. I still am not seeing any 465 livery reskins on SEHS. Is this working for anyone else? If not, then what exactly was fixed? Edit: I really appreciate the new freight services on LBN though! Even better than fixed liveries. Yeah but still want those liveries fixed though.
Not clear if the spurious SPAD's on SoS are sorted but looking forward to giving the revised steam physics a crack. Also possibly good news re the 150 on WCL, we shall see! Plenty to get stuck into.
Anyone on steam got the patch? According to my steam the last tsw update was 23 dec and no updates pending?
There are two different livery issues. Locomotives get reskins, and those supposedly will be better/not borked. Freight wagons, however, will not spawn alt-liveries until DTG sort out a bug under which swapping paint jobs means the car becomes empty and eliminates most of the train weight.
Good stuff. I'll stick with the passenger runs for now, then or at least avoid anything that kicks off from Basford Hall via the Indie Lines.
A major bug with SoS has been introduced, I just took out a light engine and around 90mph started getting wheelspin which became 'runaway' and quickly showed 450mph!! Turning off the regulator, cut-off and brakes on 100% and it still wouldn't stop the wheels spinning. Had to abandon the scenario.
After today's patch I literally have to Dtg. I was the guy in the stipey shirt when I noticed extra freight services on London commuter.
That video was funny..... I'm surprised DTG didn't announced it Especially for a route like the BML. But thank you
Thanks for the reply. I am still not seeing any improvements to loco reskins though. I would definitely like to know if anybody has noticed an improvement such as you described post the implementation of this patch. So far I see no difference, but perhaps I am looking in the wrong places?
anyone find the class 150 literally has no power? Im sitting here in notch 7 and it barely is getting by 35mph
I hadn't put much time into it until the patch so hadn't come across it before. All seemed well but around 80mph it just picks up slowly even at 0/0. Add a few % reg and cutoff and she'll wheelspin controllably and accelerate. I had the Jubilee to 160mph before it derailed. I'lll await the next patch
I’m happy to see that the 150/2 has finally got its acceleration / throttle notch bug fixed. With Bescot’s excellent mod, this is now actually juuuuuuuuuuust about playable and I’d say at a ‘passable’ standard. I will be submitting another report to make this unit as good as it really should be given the fact that they are charging £25 for the DLC and advertising ‘true to life’. It is most definitely not there yet but it has improved since original release. No denying that.
They are a tad quicker in real life but not by much. They do struggle a lot on gradients in real life.
Frustratingly on SoS the locos' chimneys are *still* leaking (smoke emitter origin bug since TSW3), this does kill the immersion in external view somewhat.
Hopefully that will be in the next patch then! Disappointing that it has taken this long and is still not fixed. However, it is good to see all the other fixes which have been implemented in this update and certainly a good start to the year.
I don't know if you touched Rhein-Ruhr Ost in the patch, but I've just run 8:22 freight service and there was no AI traffic anywhere besides like two parked units, I don't think a four-track commuter railway should look like that in morning peak. It was pretty lively yesterday. I have all possible layers except for G6.
I see the collectable totals on SEHS Extended haven’t been adjusted to reflect the increased number of items you have to collect.
Thanks Matt. Please could you fix the ones on the two steam schedules in SEHS as well. Both Up and Down schedules end in ‘Service Failure’ part way through the run. No explanation is given, but there was no pattern to speed or anything I was doing with the controls at the time, so I assume they’re SPADs by other trains. Full details are in the technical forum. This is a shame because, that aside, both are brilliant runs - being in charge of a Jubilee on a non-stop following on the signals of a semi-fast EMU is great fun!
is it just me who wishes we had the option of seeing our custom livery’s in timetable mode or not? like i’d rather it was all realistic and i hope we get the option to do that one day
Bremen - Oldenburg is still listed under "other" in the route filters. I know it's relatively minor in the grand scheme of things, but so many times Ive selected Germany and hoping to see it listed in there
If you’re on PC, there is an option to prevent custom liveries from appearing on AI Trains in timetable. ts2.dbg.MaxReskinsPerTimetable=0 Ideally there would be an in-game option for each livery, whether or not you want it to substitute into the timetable or not. This would benefit both PC and Console. XBOX/PS can’t use console commands, and for PC it’s either everything can substitute, or nothing at all, which isn’t practical. Personally, I like custom liveries appearing on my US Freight routes, what I don’t like is custom liveries appearing on German routes (for example)
Yes, they should really make it so each livery has a toggle setting, either set by the author themselves, or ideally by the user to their own liking. Even better would be if one could toggle it on/off on a route to route basis, so for example allow a livery to spawn on one route, but not on the other. Currently custom liveries are either a game changer, improving variety greatly or a total immersion killer when they spawn when they shouldn't.
Still check Steam at every patch announcement in the hopes that TSW2 is included with the Pres. Crew and derail bug patches, but still no go.
A fix for the spurious derails on sos are fixed in the dev build and coming in the next update. Pres crew updates are still waiting for a release window I believe, not sure.
Even better, allow the liveries to be tied to specific loco / unit numbers so they spawn really properly, for example 91111 91110 and so on. It would also allow for "proper" application of things like name plates etc
This would be great. To apply certain liveries to specific trains instead of the liveries randomly spawning on anything.
Quick update on Monday's patch here (Scenario Planner issues, crashes on London Commuter): https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...ights-and-more-january-9th.63201/#post-588595
Since this patch I've played 3 timetabled steam trains - two on SEHS and one on Lime St - Crewe. All three have ended with 'Service Failure' with no reason given. There's no pattern to location or anything I was doing with control of the train - it's just happens part way through every journey. On the plus side that should make it easy to re-create! I never experienced these unexplained 'service failure' events before the patch was applied, so it's obviously a bug which has been introduced. I've put the details in the technical forum.
A fix for the spurious spads is coming in the next update so maybe that will fix the issues you are having
I suspect this is something different. The SPADs fix only applies to SoS, not SEHS. I’ve played many hours on SEHS on electric trains and never experienced this bug. It occurs only when driving steam. I therefore suspect this is related to the train, not the route.
