Fair play to you Have a fantastic new year, looking forward to purchasing your new ventures going forward. I have had no end of enjoyment using your previous releases to date, so look forward massively to your future releases. Many thanks
Here's the overhauled MPV with all of it's under-frame detailing in place: Tomorrow's tasks include sorting out the multi-loco jumper plugs and the detailing of the rear of the vehicle, happy days
Jumper plugs and cables sorted. Rear of the vehicle is next up (and the height of the guard rails). Should also add, there are some more pipes and cables to add to the sides, but I'll come back around to those once the rear of the unit is spot on.
Thanks mate, I'm putting a lot of effort into this, and have rebuilt 80% of it. I figure that I may as well make it absolutely spot on before releasing the v2.0 update. I've worked on it constantly over Christmas just because I enjoy it so much. And I hope in turn you guys will get a lot of enjoyment from it.
One more layer of detailing left to add before I move onto the modules (and some tiny bits to tidy up).
Every single fixture, pipe, damper, cable, nut, bolt and screw. Everything. To be fair, I would've loved MPV v1.0 to have shipped like this. Better late than never.
Thank you mate Pre-Flight check to make sure that the heavily upgraded bogies export without any issues is successful:
Pre-Flight check on exporting the whole upgraded model is also successful (Please note, the BMACS, flatbed detailing and under-frame detailing aren't shown here as they are child objects and are exported separately)
Getting there. Excuse the shadow artefacts on the buffer beam and flatbed sides, these won't be present in the final build.
Happy Friday Still diffuse texturing to do, light weathering and all the technical data on the sides.
Volvo Railpacs, propshafts, gearboxes and gearbox linkages installed. baked and spinning in time with engine RPM...
Yeah I downloaded the Just Trains 153 today. The modelling, detail and cab is good but what let’s it down is the sounds. There was an enhancement pack released by Armstrong powerhouse a few years ago which greatly improved the sounds but unfortunately it’s no longer available for download on their website. So disappointing. Only cost me £11 though. I have noticed this too with a lot of DMU’s, for example notch 5 in the AP class 142 holds you at 30.9 mph, which comes in really handy when there’s a 30 limit. But once it changes up and the revs drop (most second gen Dmu’s seem to do this around 40-55 mph) then what throttle notch held you at a certain speed in 1st gear now holds you at a much higher speed in 2 nd gear (for example, in the AP class 142, below 40 mph, notch 6 holds you at 35 mph, but once you get above 40 mph and the revs drop, notch 6 holds you at 74 mph. I just assumed they were actually like that in real life, maybe to make it easier to stick to certain speeds.
Id also like to see another 142/143 in train sim classic as well. The AP 142 is over 10 years old now, the DTG 143 is over 8 years old and is very basic. Yes we have the DTG 142 but it lacks the liveries and detail that the AP 142 has. You can get this train from the just trains website for £11 but it’s a very old model and the sounds aren’t the best.
It uses less poly's so there are some very minor performance gains. We're now moving onto re-exporting all of the cab animations (100+). Just a few minor details to add to the main model (top light in particular). After that, it's time to re-pack the pack. Hope you think the MPV is much better this time around That's all folks! (for today)
Good news! We're now onto the last hurdles of tidying and re-packing all of the variants - then it's off for some beta testing.
One last shot of the magnificent beast, and that's me signing off for the day. What started out as a bit of a bug fixing mission and a tidy up soon became a full rebuild (and here we are 6 months later)...
Just to keep you in the loop as to where we are at, just a few jobs left before packing the pack:- 1) Internal horn hiss 2) Rear 3-Link tidy 3) Point lights need adjusting to new dimensions 4) Water dump feature I'm sorry this has taken so long, but there was a lot to work through. Almost, almost there.
Point lights and 3-link are done I guess we are almost onto extras - any suggestions? Also, CTRL+B (B for Bone) to toggle Doggo on/off
It may be intentional / prototypical but as you asked for ‘extras’, I’d say the front is a bit too pristine. Maybe some weathering could be added. It looks great though!
Totally agree - it will feature some light weathering - there are a couple of heavily weathered units in the pack too. Thanks though, all input is appreciated mate.
Not at all. I hate to pick because it looks great. I’ve just come back to TSC and hadn’t seen this the first time around but will likely pick it up once this version is released
This is looking really good, gutted I haven't got my hand in it yet "hopefully" in the next few weeks after the new version gets released
Signing off, I'll leave you with John & Nigel... ( Last minute drama & crunch to get the pack done - always the way )
Here's a couple of shots to kick off your Wednesday - another additional bonus variant, heavily weathered with 1st generation BMACs, and LOVE Preston (later years)...
