644, 628 and the N-Wagen which we already have (only need the 218) would bring a perfect Diesel route to TSW and it would be the Eifelbahn, maybe this route could be interesting for you:) But at the moment we have the 620/622 on the route but still the older diesel engines fit perfectly on it

So today's update brought in two new depots on the steamdb. These are:
    • 2101389 Which has a download size of 444.19 MiB.
    • 2101400 Whioch has a download size of 156.80 MiB
If I had to guess what they are, I have a feeling that the former one is from Rivet's mystery steam pack and the later one is for Acela Express (considering that I've seen that depot get updated in the steamdb alongside Boston Sprinter on several occasions).

There's also one other unnamed depot, 2101385 (which has a download size of currently 4.42 GiB). Considering the higher download size for this one, I believe it's safe to say, that this is for Rivet's upcoming Scottish route. Whatever it is, hopefully we will find out maybe sometime this week.

My guess is that we will hear about 1 or 2 before the roadmap this week

Just wanted to note that the patch we got today seems to have been slowly assembled in the rc_shipping branch over the past week or so and then added to the rc_preview branch in one go about 3 days ago.

This would mean that the new SteamDB development timeline is now development -> rc_shipping -> rc_preview -> public.

Explanation for anyone who isn’t familiar with SteamDB:
What does that stuff you just talked about mean?
If something is changed in the rc_preview branch here, a new game update might happen in just a few days. By clicking on the depots that are part of the change and looking at their filenames, one can see which DLCs are affected by the update. The DLCs with encrypted files are unreleased, so seeing them in the rc_preview branch would definitely point to a release in the coming weeks. Other things than changes to the different branches can also be seen in TSW3’s SteamDB history, like stat or achievement updates, which have often been the main causes of DLC leaks in the past. These are done manually and thus usually not intertwined with the branch/depot updates I talked about above.

    What about all the branches?
Ok, here are the important ones and how they are presumably used:
    • Development is presumably the “area” where active development is going on. Very frequent changes here, some of which probably won’t be released for a few months.
    • Rc_shipping is where fully developed and tested changes are compiled and loosely assembled into patches.
    • Rc_preview is (as I mentioned above) a place for fully assembled patches to go to, which are then distributed internally and/or to external partners like Sony and Microsoft for mandatory testing ahead of public release.
    • Public is the branch we’re all using. Any updates made to it go out to all users as part of game updates/patches.
    Got any proof of that?
This theory is supported by the different presence of the depots in the branches. If you click on the depots section of TSW3’s SteamDB site and switch between the different branches by scrolling all the way down and making a selection (default is the Public branch), you can easily notice that the Development branch has the most Manifest ID’s (the part of the table with Encrypted: followed by lots of random letters and numbers) of unreleased depots. The unreleased depots are those with encrypted files and no clear name, usually at the bottom of the depot list, and there are so many in this branch because even DLCs that aren’t supposed to be released for another few months are usually being worked on in this branch.
If you go from the Development branch to Rc_shipping, Rc_preview and then Public, you’ll notice that the amount of Manifest ID’s at the bottom of the list is getting smaller and smaller because less and less unreleased DLCs are being worked on in these branches. You’re essentially going from the future to the present!

Well here’s hoping the add ons manager is close to being finished. I want to uninstall TSW2 and free up more GB for future TSW3 DLC

I had speculated the new route would be Edinburgh to Glasgow, others were saying it would only be to Stirling or Falkirk but this confirms my guesses. Definitely getting this day one.

Ideally, I’d get this on day one but isn’t this a Rivet route? Might be best to hang fire for a day or three.

Majority of services are 50-60 minutes, with 5 stops along the way, an average time of around 10 minutes between stops.
