Would TSW3 ever have glaring headlights like in TSC? It seems a bit unrealistic if a train is some distance away and there's no headlight glare. Here are some photos of the HSC and the Sherman Hill route locos (SD70ACE and the ES44AC respectively, though every addon has the same situation) UP SD70ACE (Up close view) Further away view You can't even see the headlights in this photo despite the train being right there Here's a photo from TSC with the AC6000CW. You see the headlight glare from a distance away, when further away it looks like a ball of light. This is how it should look(Images presented below) Here's how it should look when you are further away: Is there a mod to fix this? Or is this in the works? As far as I remember, they didn't get the headlight glare effect in even in the original TSW,. Let me know. I think this might be a technical issue with the game but I'm no expert
I agree and it has been discussed many times in the past. It's really a shame DTG can't figure it out.
I sure do hope that DTG will get this thing implemented at some point. This should've been implemented in the original TSW. DTG haven't figured it out and it's been almost 6 years
The lights on the SD40-2 may as well not even be there at all. I'm pretty sure I saw a mod that fixes lights, so I'll link it if I find it again.
I think we'll have to wait. The transition to the new lighting system opens the possibility to create realistic light casting which is invisible in daylight (they are shifting the dynamic range actually - that's why they have to have the "eye adaption" effect when leaving tunnels). And it's notable on new locos - for example when you turn on the cab lights in daytime you should not really see anything being lit up except for the lamp itself. That's already working. They can now use the system for powerful US headlights. In TSC it's just a matter of defining the flare sections in the light blueprint (Radius, cone phi and theta, light colour and visibility distance) and adding flare textures. I've modded a lot of these myself.
