One thing I find with running in timetable mode is after a while it starts to get a bit samey, my suggestion would be when running in timetable mode rather than having every other train running smack bang on time around you is to have an option to set up randomised timetable delays, rather than just running along on greens all the time. Then you'd get random situations where you might be following something and actually have to drive, or other traffic crossing your path first. Obviously if you want scenario points, then these in effect go out of the window but it'd make it more realistic.
The dispatcher would need some work to deal with the dynamic events you mentioned. Mostly comes down to pathing and multiple trains occupying the same block, causing roadblocks that never clear. This is being fixed and hopefully fix some of the issues in game. But don't know if this will be enough to make dynamic events possible
Ah yes, the roadblocks, had one the other day on Riesa - Dresden route, pulled into Dresden-Bischofplatz on a red, sat there for about 5 minutes looked so looked on the the map to see what the delay was, the train ahead of me was sat there at Dresden Neustadt on a green with every other available platform free! So I got out of my cab and walked the 750 metres of so to it to see if I could just swap trains and take it forward to clear the jam and it wouldn't let me drive it! I'm not sure if it a quirk (DTG will probably say it's a 'feature') but I have noticed on that route that if you make yourself slightly late the signalman does just shove other stuff in front of you already, adds to the realism I guess! Although the regulating is shocking, running a couple of minutes late so it shoves an early ish one in front of you then making you 10 late from about a few minutes late.
