Make sure the cab is activated using the switch on the back. You'll know it's on when the cab lights turn on. Then you set the headlight switch to auto. Then you go to the mfd on your right, press 5 i believe, enter, then it'll show you a picture of the train with buttons to turn on lights on each end. Check what cab you are in, press the corresponding button twice and then press enter. And turn on headlight switch. The tutorial also goes over it
Recommend completing the 187 tutorial again as it explains about the headlights - should be easy to understand after a while.
Is there a way to turn off the lights if you activated them on the wrong end of the loco? (Preferably from within the mfd menu, not by deactivating the cab) I've only managed to choose between headlights and taillights if I select a loco side.
No worries, I recently started with the 187 again and had the exact same problems with the headlights!
I don't understand how you can stand the sound of the 187. I've tried it a couple of times and had to stop after a few minutes because it's really unpleasant. And I understand even less how the developers could create such an aberration and release it thinking they had done a good job.
Eventually some people get used to it after hearing it for a while. I kind of just ignore it cuz nothing I can do about it lol. Can always mute the game too
I've never heard or seen a 187 in real life, so I can't compare - while this doesn't bother me, of course I'd want the sounds to be realistic as possible. I like the 187 as it's a nice freight alternative to the likes of the ubiquitous 185 in TSW - but that's just me.
I agree..the ungodly shrieking noise it makes drowns out all other sounds and it's not worth playing. It's a shame because it's a decent loco otherwise. What was DTG thinking when they released it with that atrocious noise and why hasn't it been fixed?
Don't worry guys, I know a way to fix the sounds manually... STEP 1: STEP 2: Spoiler This is sarcasm. I'm not sure how they managed to release a patch that makes the sounds even worse, but I have to congratulate DTG and Skyhook for breaking a new record. The Train Simulator version is not amazing but at least it isn't undriveable like this.
I think the sound is overdone in TSW. But of course, it is a subjective perception. Best from 4:10 on Drive by Cab Sound
The LZB still doesn't work in this loco. I regret not refunding this when I had a chance. What a garbage DLC!
I Hope we get a better Sound Soon BC i Maybe think The 187 Will, Not get an Update anymore It, say still in The Roadmap but No News For, months now
This locomotive still needs some love. Can skyhook- sean please have a look after the release of the MML!
Even as an AI is it terrible, seeing the 187 in the opposite direction as an AI in RSN made me permanently delete that thing from my Steam library.
and inversed rear boogie on AC4400CW (for your reputation) fom Cane Creek and green artefacts in winter route version... and ES44AC wipers....
What are you on about? Did you see the thread you're posting in? This is for the 187 which has been out for a long time and yet is still absolutely terrible quality.
Realised that probably came off snippier than I intended as well, apologies. Fingers crossed the recent communication from Skyhook is a good sign, just won't hold out hope until results come through.
