Morning folks! Is there an overview somewhere or a place where you can see the route maps of all TSW routes (which can be found e.g. on the plaques in the game)? Unfortunately, I don't think the views in the TSW menu are that good, there is definitely room for improvement here. Many thanks to everyone.
Rivet has made a "Google Earth" like map, where all previous TSW routes are entered, simply zoom in with the mouse or enter your own screeshots of the route! Here's the link: https://rivet-games.com/tsw-routemap/
Unfortunately in the game yet something else DTG told us they were looking to improve over a year ago.
There's posters with a map on some routes. You can go to the operators websites and find maps, although it's only good for modern routes. The older maps are harder to find.
What kind of routes are you looking for? Northern Trans Pennine, Birmingham Cross City, Tees Valley, Cathcart Circle and the upcoming Edinburgh Glasgow are all "north of the thames" If you mean crossing the thames - London Brighton does that. Expect more "north of the thames" and "not third rail" to be on the plan going forwards, starting with Birmingham Cross City! Matt.
Exactly, I mean these route posters. But sometimes I just want to look at those posters before a ride and not have to search for them. It would be nice if such a poster was always included as a document in the DLC (e.g. a a PDF or JPG). @all Thanks for the links to the GoogleMaps-Maps.
I'm sure it was mentioned that dtg tried to do a better route map but it made the game unstable, somehow.
There was a time when DTG made some route maps, the last one I think was Rhein-Ruhr Osten. I'm going to post them here in case anyone who doesn't have them wants to download them.
I prefer to create my own, based on information available in the game and on the Internet (from the actual operators). Here's one example, Long Island Rail Road. You may notice that the Long Island City and Hunterspoint Avenue are not on the Penn to Woodside route. See MTA Map here.
on steam Vitas posted a few route maps with more details also posted on the DTG forum so far he did 3 routes https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198155011951/myworkshopfiles/?section=guides&appid=1944790 West Cornwall Local: Penzance - St Austell & St Ive Rail Route Map | Dovetail Games Forums for more results map | Dovetail Games Forums
Well this is a huge disappointment, I surely hope this doesn't mean years of no South England-based third-rail routes in TSW? While of course more wider UK content is much needed of course, I'd of hoped to have had at least one new south-of-the-Thames-based route to complement, considering the amount of different rolling stock which can already be used on such routes to create bigger and better timetables in contrast to one loco-routes. Please at least consider such gameplay factors instead of focusing on just not having no third-rail routes etc when going forwards.
It means some balance, but first, it does mean a little correction, because there have been far too many southern third rail routes and very little from the glorious north (or wales). I still want a 4CIG and a 73, desperately. There's no hate for the south here, just recognition that "other parts of the country may exist too" (and no, that's not a hint, at all, even remotely, leave it) Matt.
As far as the UK is concerned, you can get schematics of all existing rail routes (companies) via Wikipedia. I have used them to create route schematics - attached is an example for the TS South Wales Coast dlc. This example does not include distances between stations, but others do.I am sure routes for other countries will be on Wiki
