OK admittedly I don't know how the ins and outs of ingame licensing works, But it seems ludicrous to me that Scotrail will allow their branding on TSW2 and TSW3 with their trains, stations, signs etc etc. But the second someone uses the name in Content Creator it gets struck down as though God himself has forbidden it. The name Scotrail is decades old but its now forbidden? Can someone in the know please explain how it works? I put a class 20 in a fictional Scotrail livery on Content Creators Club and it was removed in minutes, I had to put in a stupid name for it just to keep it up.
Well is it because scotrail or is the word somehow restricted? What i mean is, after months with scenario planner i found the key why "class 37" services will not be accepted in the name. For some reason tsw thinks i use the word cl(ass)...,!?. First i thought the name was too long, same for "assisting unit". Its too strict in my opinion.
Hello, When we get company agreements, we make deals with the license holders to understand where they want their imaging / brand. Some may opt out for allowing their offical usage on our creative designer to protect their identitiy. Some brands may choose not to do this, hence why there is a range of available licenses and unavailable ones. We recommend players use official approved licenses, which you can find on our FAQs: https://dovetailgames.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/80001032492-creators-club-faq I hope this helps!
A well executed and authentic branded ScotRail livery on a train all vetted by the company is a big yes, a random uncontrolled use of the branding by anyone on any train, regardless of quality is a big no. It’s not ludicrous when you think about it. The way it currently is, ScotRail still have control of the use of their brand and TSW represents them in a way they approve of. That’s their choice I’m afraid as it is their brand.
When ScotRail does something wrong I call them 'SnotFail', I do a SnotFail of the Year at New Year, fully enough, 2022's winner was ScotRail repeatedly putting my least favourite Turbostar on my local line (170396)
I remember having 170396 for haulage between Doncaster and Kings Cross when Hull Trains had 170s. Took forever lol.
I like the other 39x though but 396 is underpowered (imo) and doesn't deserve to be on any intercity route, they should keep it on Tweedbank or Glenrothes with Thornton diagrams but yeah, should swap one of Northern's Turbos (preferably 170475) with it
