I have a few questions, tried to ask about things I haven’t seen anywhere else on the forums yet: :)
    • Are different units able to couple/uncouple in timetable mode, like the Electrostars on London Commuter for example?
    • I’ve heard that the services from Edinburgh to Glasgow don’t stop at Edinburgh Park station. Is this stop still completely modeled and supported in Scenario Planner? Do other trains from layers stop there, perhaps?
    • Can you tell us more about the Edinburgh tram? Is it a system based on the road traffic feature like the Schwebebahn in Rhein-Ruhr Osten, or a completely bespoke creation by Rivet? Are the trams random or based on the actual timetable and stopping patterns? Do they light up at night?
    • Is there a possibility the Special Projects team might be able to introduce Class 385 substitutions to Cathcart Circle in the future? The 3-car 385 variant has the same amount of carriages as the Class 314, so it would theoretically be doable.
    • Manuel Junction - a stop on the Bo’ness and Kinneil Heritage Line - is directly adjacent and connected to the mainline west of Linlithgow. Have you modeled this small halt and made it available in scenario planner?
    • I watched your walk-around preview of the 385, and all the blinds in the 1st class section seemed to be completely shut. As this appears to be quite unrealistic, would you be able to make the positions of the blinds more random?
    • You seem very interested in returning to your existing routes and giving them more content, like we’ve seen with the RHB anniversary pack, the PIS update on West Cornwall Local and so on. Have you built this new route with future expansions in mind as well?
Thanks in advance for considering my questions. Looking forward to the stream! :D

Not quite, the 800/801/802/803 and probably the 805/807/810s frequency change is a bit higher in speed at 35 ish as they are designed for much higher speeds than 385s. Another thing the VV/VFs on 800s are quieter.

Will we be able to see Edinburgh Airport and the Forth Bridges in the far distance as we head out of Edinburgh towards Linlithgow station ???. They are visible in real life on this route and it would be a really nice touch.

The 385 didn't run on cathcart circle when it was set. Cathcart circle is set in 2014 which is before the 385 took over. The 320, 380 and 385 entered service in 2016. So it really wouldn't be appropriate and probably why Rivet decided not to have it sub into the route.

it could be possible to “copy and paste” Cathcarts timetable and label as a 2018 or something with every 314 swapped for a 385…

it would be very similar (pretty much the same, along with timings) but it could fix/satisfy a rather popular demand for this

This specific question was asked during the roadmap stream. Matt basically said is that he will learn from rivet and see if it's a viable option for dtg to take on themselves and make it available to other 3rd parties. It's very likely Matt will repeat the same thing and say it will be a feature on future routes once they've mastered the tech and no plans on legacy routes at the moment since that's what happens with every new feature added to the game. Either way, it's a massive amount of work having to do every single unique voice recording for each unique service pattern/type. Then having to build the tms system and having it match up and play correctly since the announcements are tied to the tms. They also need an employee to work full time for the announcements. A specific route that comes to mind is London commuter cuz that's got many different service patterns, meaning many different audio recordings. On other routes such as bakerloo, you stop at all stations or go half way so it would be easier as you would need 1 recording for the whole line and chop it in half for the runs that go only half way and line it up with the service. Again, a large task to do regardless.

385 was 2018 (2019 for services out of Glasgow Central) but yeah. It could be done as some services 314, some services 385 on Cathcart circle as with what happened on the actual route while 385s were being introduced, as it wasnt just 1 day everything changes. Only issue is the 385s dont do Cathcart circle much (can only do 2 returns before moving to a faster route or being sat somewhere for a while) as their motors overheat, same with the 380s and 334s. In 2011 the Cathcart circle services were mainly 314 and 380s with 318s sometimes hopping on when not in use on Inverclyde. Pre 380 introduction it was 334s and 318s on the circle with 320 and 318 on the North electrics

Will you be adding a guarding panel for the 385s?

Yea, guard panels are a thing with the same level of interactivity as the 484 we're used to. Already been mentioned in the article

Can you please make sure the lighting is good at night so we can actually drive services at night. It needs to be much better than Luzern/Sursee route as that rought is just complete darkness at night making it undriveable at night

Please can you find a way of adding the Class 385 to the Cathcart route. It'd give the route a new lease of life and hopefully can be done in a similar way to when the Class 313 timetable was added to East Coastway.

No. The route only comes with a 385. They aren't going to remodel a 150 into a scotrail livery since it's not what the route is coming with.

1: Most likely as all routes include having to place maps at stations
2: No for 2 reasons. Firstly no one has developed the 220/221s for TSW and aren't likely with this route and secondly, XC don't like licencing their brand even though they are owned by DB (Parent company of Arriva XC).

Dtg do not have the cross country license. The license agreement between cross country and dtg ended when it released in tsc. And they have not been successful getting it, so no cross country dlc are possible.

I think he is talking about the route map when you enter the pause menu which is there for some routes.

They used to run services from edinburgh to other parts of the scotland railway. From what I have gathered from quick research, they were removed back in early 2000s before being taken over by the 156 and other sprinters that were there.

Why isn't the 385 being layered into Cathcart? Yes I understand it be available in scenario planning but that feels lazy in DTG part. Is it difficult to code another loco as a layer l.

Not a dtg route. And definitely not being lazy. The 385 would only sub in but the problem is the 385 didn't exist during the time cathcart circle is set (2014) which is most likely why rivet decided not to include it as a sub in cathcart circle. They could create a whole new 2019 timetable for cathcart circle with the 385 but I highly doubt it due to how much work it would require

not since 2005, no. 170s were used to replace them as First couldnt mod them to have disabled toilets or something, but there were 18 total 150s based out of Haymarket

Will the onboard PIS screens work dynamically in tandem with the announcements? Or will they be static and just show the final destination?

Don’t know why people on here get so hung up time periods. Especially when it’s something like 2014 to present.

if the 385 was added on to the Cathcart circle timetable it would give it a new lease of life. It would make no difference if people wanted to play the route and timetable as if it were present day, especially given that some of the scenery that is in the game is from 2018/19.

From what I’ve read the 385s don’t operate that often on Cathcart - the majority of trains are other classes from Scotrail’s electric fleet.

Yeah, the motors have issues with overheating on the Cathcart routes with all the starting and stopping really quickly, they can and still do use the 385 on Cathcart, but cant use them all day.

Football/event specials often see the appearance of a 385.

Over the last weekend there for the Scottish League Cup semi finals a 6 car 318 and 6 car 380 were used for specials. Seen a 6 car 320 heading for Neilston on a regular service.

My nearest train station is Gourock and I got kn a 385 the other day, not sure I've been on one before so at least now I have a benchmark to go by on the upcoming route

Sorry if this already asked but, why was the ultra modern era chosen with a train that has an awful narrow slit window for the forward cab view? Why did you not go back to the pre electrification era and have 158's or 170's working on the route or even further back with Class 47 or Class 27 operated push pull services (and much more scope for layers)?
Will the 385 have decent sound and physics or will it be another kludge like the dismal 150 on WCL?
Will the income you get from sales of this route be used to fund fixes and updates to your existing flawed content, such as the aforementioned WCL and the dreadful 150, or the outstanding sound issues with the 1938 stock?

Im pretty sure a modern era was chosen cuz it's easier to do modern day stuff cuz it's in rivets backyard and we already have the 158 and 170 in tsc. So most likely a change of time period.

Check the latest youtube from The British Ace or Megasim and you will have the answer to the second question. Or the DTG site under TSW3 and News.

I think you're right, but it would be a treat to have the underground TMS working in Bakerloo Line. Maybe this is what other new partners can develop that.
TMS! Yes!!! Reading comments in this forum, I understand that it can be tricky do this in Bakerloo Line for example. But I must make a request to you all in DTG, Rivet, etc, because it's soooo nice to finally get it. Did I preorder? YES!!!!

If you read the recent articles and scrolled through the conversation, the 314 (2 playable, 2 ai) and the rhtt (1 playable, 2ai) layers in. And the 385 will not layer onto cathcart.

Services from Edinburgh to dunblane stop here and they should be playable so I would believe it will be fully modelled
