After my modelling stream this week, some of the modders in our Discord community have been implementing the quick SD40 model I created into the unreal engine and game - check out these ridiculous screenshots! Shoutout to DominusEdwardius, Foobian and also Maple for making all the screenshots, modding and memes From DominusEdwardius: From Foobian:
That's not too bad looking at it. I don't even know how to change the colour of something in Blender let alone make a functional loco.
That’s a good start. I was like this at the beginning then I had to stop 3D modeling as it was time consuming and impossible to mix with my studies at the uni, I’m quite sad as I did some decent start by doing a rubber tyred subway and a tramway, I still have the pictures of them somewhere
Citadis 302 before its front reshaping by adding a cover at the coupler: I know it didn’t looked perfect but I was learning Blender and this was 4 years ago
Thank you but to make my own sim it’ll be a miracle there’s more chance to see the add on manager releases than any on my creation or a sim
...well modeled, didn't even know that Paris has a subway with rubber wheel bogies. On the other hand, I'm familiar with the PER commuter trains, i.e. have been traveling with them through Paris.
Because Alex showed his 3D modeling skills in Maya last Monday and MYG92 added his projects, I thought to show some of my 3D train projects in this appropriate thread as well. The first is a fictional high speed train called: MGV. Also modeled it in Maya about 10 years ago, while nowadays I mainly use Blender. The second one is a little steam loco, the BR89.7 or T3. Of course I had more time for it than just an hour of live streaming. BTW: thanks to the experience I've gained in dealing with the Livery Designer, I would now improve some of the textures even more realistically.
Thanks ! We have rubber tyred subway since 1956 ( 5 lines in total and 2 airports shuttle lines ) and it operates as well in other countries like in Japan or Canada ( Montreal ) or South America. Many airport shuttle uses this technique also. Oh the RER a very convenient network
If anyone 7 months later somehow is still interested in this thing, it is now available for download as a mod for Steam and Epic Games users on the Train Sim Community website! >> Alexrail SD40-2 on Train Sim Community <<
