Class 323 Traction Cut Out Switch

    What is the use of this switch I know it makes your train slower, but does anybody know the real life use for it? Thanks in advance

    If I remember correctly from the DLC release stream this switch when active will cut out the motors if ANY door is open, including the driver's door. Isolate this and you can drive the train with the driver's door open, such as in depots. Don't think the function is replicated in game

    Ah so maybe similar to the window interlock in the 72 stock thanks.

    The "Traction Cut out" switch is used to isolate the individual motor bogies if you have a failed traction motor. The class 37 has it modeled too in tsw, there you can even choose to isolate specific axles. The driven bogies of the 323 are below the dms cars, the panto car has trailed bogies.

    Door override / traction interloc is something different, basicly you "turn off" the doors safety system, that a train can move with open doors.

    Ahh great thanks for that info, hence why it makes your train slower. So no need to really use it in the game its only for emergency situations in real life really?

    Yes, also if you isolate both dms cars, you wont be able to apply power.
