So my laptop keyboard doesn’t have a pause button to pause the game for taking screenshots, is there an alternate key that does the same thing.
Not that I know of, are you sure there isn't a Fn (Function) + button for pause, a bit similar to Ctrl + or Alt + but Lappys tend to also have Fn + (sometimes blue letters).
I do have an FN button, but there doesn’t seem to be a substitute for the pause button I can use FN for
I have the same issue, I even got a separate Number pad so I could turn on the EM2000 on a 66 & it didn't work! I just screenshot on the move
I don`t think its possible on some laptops as I think its simply not assigned. From WIKI.... Compact and notebook keyboards often do not have a dedicated Pause/Break key. Substitutes for Break: Ctrl+Fn+F11 or Fn+B or Fn+Ctrl+B on certain Lenovo laptops.[2][3][4] Ctrl+Fn+B or Fn+B on certain Dell laptops.[5] Ctrl+Fn+S on some other Dell laptops.[6] Fn+Esc on Samsung. Ctrl+Fn+⇧ Shift on certain HP laptops. Fn+R on certain HP laptops. Fn+Ctrl+B on certain Logitech (LOGI) keyboards. Substitutes for Pause: Fn+P or Fn+Ctrl+P or Fn+Alt+P on certain Lenovo laptops.[4] Fn+B on certain Dell laptops.[4] Fn+⇧ Shift on certain HP laptops. Fn+W on certain HP laptops. For some Dell laptops, without a Break key, press the Alt+Space and select "Interrupt".[7] I`ve tried this on my HP laptop and non seem to work.
Worth noting that there are some DLC that specifically use num-pad keys for certain functions so even if this is sorted out there might be issues in future. The obvious solution is to get a USB full size keyboard which is worth having anyway if you do any amount of typing- you would really appreciate the key spacing and standard layout and one is likely to feel better than any laptop keyboard. It needn't cost that much either- you might know someone who has a spare or be able to find one for a couple of quid in a charity shop. When I used a laptop for everything I had a USB hub with keyboard, mouse and an external HD connected through that. If I ever needed to take the laptop anywhere (which wasn't often- having a laptop was more about being able to put it away when I wasn't using it) I only had to unplug the hub and the PSU and it was ready to go.
You can cheap out for keyboards if you want or go for a more pricey one (mechanical keyboards are really nice). I live in the UK and I use this cheap mechanical feel keyboard which feels and sounds great. For £10 it's actually my general keyboard recommendation (comes with a less impressive mouse too) but it's up to you really.
