Other Edinburgh To Glasgow Definitive Bug List

This is a list of known bugs/issues so far …

• Rain effect is not visible from the cab (through windscreen), but is visible when viewed from an external camera, or is visible without the need to use wipers.
  
• Stopping points not shown on every platform and are in the wrong place for certain length trains.
• Some speed signs are not shown correctly. For example, speed signs for diverging rails don’t have the appropriate arrow, or the wrong speed is shown on the HUD. Class 385 is forced to slow to 80mph when it should be ample to pass the 90mph SP board at 90mph.
• Not enough set up time. One minute is not enough to get everything ready (including safety systems).
• Lighting effect in the cab when entering some tunnels is shockingly bad.
• Looping in cab sound. Cab sound is like the windows are open with loud wind noise.
• TMS not working for Xbox players. This now appears to be fixed.
• AI trains are showing headlights and taillights simultaneously or showing them back to front i.e. headlights at rear of train, taillights at the front.
• Announcer does not announce next station from the starting station.
• Signals remain red until doors are closed at stations.
• Glowing sleepers in tunnels.
• Barely audible AWS alarm.
• CPBC (Throttle Lever) slow to respond.
• Platform announcements included in TMS e.g. Fast Train Approaching.
• Braking % varies in the HUD between application and release.
• No track side signage for the neutral sections on the route.
• Incorrect font and text scaling on the internal PIS screens.
• Signals have significant light flare but appear unlit or very dimly lit.
• Passengers sitting sideways on seats or multiple passengers sitting on a single seat.
• Signals can be hard/impossible to see at the starting points due to the tiny train window. Either the signals are in the wrong place, or the train is too close to the signal.
• Doors can be opened whilst train is in motion.
• Carriage lights not working correctly (Although these need to be turned on via TMS, which is not working properly on Xbox).
• Some signals not working or missing.
• Axel on at least one bogie doesn’t appear to be attached to anything.
• Lack of instructions in at least one scenario (One Step To Freedom) resulting in the player failing to manually change the points and left unable to complete the scenario.
• Cowlairs East junction towards Glasgow missing a PSR board to indicate a significant reduction in speed is further up the line.
• Missing catenary cabling around Edinburgh.
• Guard panel door controls and door handover buttons don’t seem to work at Linlithgow station. Reported by players and shown in the livestream.
• Some platforms are missing their platform stop markers (this is a separate issue to the blue stop marker being missing).
• TMS sometimes gets confused about the next station.
• TMS is missing ‘This train terminates here’ announcement.
• AI trains missing their drivers.
• Station lighting is not reliable. Players have reported stations being pitch black and having to use the torch feature to find their way around.
• Achievement (Steam) for completing the Class 385 introduction not unlocking even with a new profile.
• Announcements and PIS doesn’t appear to show Dunblane as a destination correctly.
• Door opening and closing alarm sounds for too long and audio is poor quality. The door alarm on AI trains is far too loud.
• Keyhole on the inside of right hand cab door doesn’t work. Both the inside and outside keyholes work on the left hand cab door.
• Floating OHLE at Falkirk High.
• One of the overpasses at Croy station cannot be overpassed.
• Trains don’t seem to couple correctly. See screenshot in post #68.
• The Signals in Haymarket Tunnels heading towards Glasgow are stuck in the wall.
• Outside of Falkirk High heading towards Edinburgh there are some catenary wires missing.
• There is an AWS ramp just after you climb Cowlairs Incline heading towards Bishopbriggs yet there is no signal for it, not even on the branch lines. It's right after the first signal on the UP line.
• The Signals in Haymarket Tunnels heading towards Glasgow are stuck in the wall.
• Outside of Falkirk High heading towards Edinburgh there are some catenary wires missing.
• There is an AWS ramp just after you climb Cowlairs Incline heading towards Bishopbriggs yet there is no signal for it, not even on the branch lines. It's right after the first signal on the UP line.
• Carriage connector doors don’t have buttons.
• First station sign on platform 1 at Linlithgow coming from Glasgow shows as Glasgow Queen Street, rather than Linlithgow.
  
• Whistle boards are missing as are speed reduction boards.

Ironic thing is at time this was discovered was watching stream of one of the dovetail brand ambassadors that’s how this bug was found on YouTube

 

Signals missing/not working.

 

I notice no carriage light ive done 2 nighr services and there are no lights on in.tje carriages playing on X box X

 

Just found another impactful bug the scenario one step to freedom you go to headshunt and are supposed in end to go to depot sidings however there are no instructions that you need to change points therefore you are unable to get to correct track and thereby unable to finish scenario as you end up in wrong track

 

Carriage lights are switched on via tms screen in cab

 

AI timetable timings, for me it’s a bug!

Do any services stop at Edinburgh Park? The real timetables, Edinburgh to Dunblane services are meant to stop there.

Also in the real world timetables, there are peak time additional Edinburgh to Glasgow and vice-versa services that should stop at Lenzie & Bishopbriggs and skip Croy, Polmont and Linlithgow. These are included but have the incorrect stopping pattern.

There’s a 50 mph PSR at Cowlairs East Junction towards Glasgow with no PSR warning board, there definitely should be one for the change in speed.

 

So not many bugs then.....

 

A lot of missing overhead wiring, at least at Edinburgh where I started.

 

In short no however one of the scenarios uses this station but it is available to use via scenario planner if you want to use Edinburgh park

 

Really! That’s a bit poor then as the Dunblane train’s certainly stop at Edinburgh Park. A rather baffling error as they are based in Stirling.

 

Yep and this was mentioned in the preview stream that’s. What made me aware of it I 110% agree with you

 

i know this is not a bug but i see no trackside clutter. Plus there is no trackside cable runs so where do the signals and points and even the overhead lines get the electric from, ok substations but i still see no cable runs down at trackside

 

And thats not working on x box.

 

Rain can be seen from the cab without the need to use wipers. Xbox

 

There has been or is an update ready to go for the TMS.

Main list updated to this point with 28 bugs/issues found so far.

 

- No HVAC control (airconditioning in the cab) with sound.
- Brake release noise really basic and used on other trains.
- No reading light.
- Door close to soon? You hear the door close beep and they close almost right away and it keeps beeping for another 3 sec with the doors already closed. Don’t know if it is a real thing but it seems strange toe me.

 

A couple of extra I have discovered:

- AI stopping point at Haymarket for an 8 car leaves the back 4 coaches hanging off the platform
- Door panels do not function at Linlithgow station only

 

The door animation looks ok for me, I feel its a case the sounds are going on too long

 

Funny, because my idea of a door closing beeper is that passengers have some time to stand clear of the doors. Now it feels like pressing the door close button, your hear the beep and right away the doors close. But I've never seen this train in real life so if this is how it is, then fine. But I would find it very odd.

 

Surely you have all the air con you need with the raging wind in the cab?

 

There is a fixe been worked on for this however dovetail put a post in forums yesterday and in the meantime by plugging a console compatible mouse into Xbox this will allow tms to work whilst software fix waiting to be released and it does work as I’ve been using mouse myself just by plugging it in will allow a controller to work tms

 

Another couple of bugs platform car stop posts missing also the onboard tms gets announcements wrong in places when at totally different station and no this train terminates here announcement for terminus stations

The Class 385 Introduction achievement does not pop up, tested with my main profile and a newly created profile (PC Steam).

 

Tms been fixed on xbox

 

Rain can be seen only rarely on specific lighting conditions, I guess there is something wrong in combination with the lighting.

Also I noticed when e.g. having Dunblane as destination the announcer is not including it in the "Service for…" announcements, I guess this depends on the chosen destination but is definitely an issue. For e.g. Dunblane as destination it is also not automatically set on the PIS of the 385 and setting it manually on the right is also difficult as on the other display for changing the destinations they cannot be seen and the user has to look always again on the TMS. At least from an UX point of view this is not correct.

 

Whether or not it achieves anything is anyone’s guess, but at least we are trying.

 

Yes definitely I can say I don’t regret the £30 because when you strip away and look beneath the bugs it’s a phoenix and having had previous involvement with modern day trams I love the notchless traction controller as makes it like driving modern day electronic tram also the speed is incredible along with fantastic scenery and lighting such as in rain or snow at night with the glowing signals from a good distance

Definitely I think that’s way from numerous posts and thoughts you can see the passion and fact everyone wants route to be awesome and sometimes people get carried away because the passion runs high at times but when alls said and done hats off to DTG and rivet for being so prompt at rectification works which achieves 2 things 1. Being it shows their passion and willingness to sort things out when they go wrong.
2. It by far increases willingness and desire to purchase additional dlc when things promptly sorted thereby improving further reputation of developers so it’s a win win situation

Have you put key in hole on drivers door?

 

Like sophie said, to open the cab door, you have to interact with the key hole near the bottom of the door.

 

door sounds go on for too long/ very low quality audio

 

I would also add the announcements are way too quiet, also the sliding door to the passenger area does not have a real audible sound at all.

The TMS does not retain the scrolling position when changing the views, this is quite annoying always having to jump down.

Also the "This is..." announcements do not work reliable, sometimes the previous, sometimes the next station is used. (e.g. at Glasgow QS I am still getting the one for Croy)

 

I've yet to get them working at any of the stations, i tried at GQS and Croy

 

My observations so far.

I'm also having trouble getting the door to open. The left-hand side activates fine, but I'm not getting a pop-up for the right-hand side.
Also, I noticed some hovering decals on the left-hand side of the driving unit as shown in the attached picture.

 

Two-passangers per seat. Encountered multiple times practicaly on every service - always first clast compartment and seat just next to the window in the direction of travel.
I also noticed, that there are AI ghost-services running without driver. Will check, if this is frequent issue.

P.S.: I´m playing PC version via Steam.

 

Correction to my previous post.
The keyhole on the right-hand side door does work, but the one behind the door doesn't. However, both keyholes work on the left-hand side.

 

why can’t we just click the door anywhere to open it for ease, fiddly on a controller to get the exact key point

The announcements/ audio doesn't work with Dunblane services, it just says "this service is for......"
Not sure if the Alloa ones work.

Disappointing if they only work between EW and GQS

edit - doesn't work for Alloa services either

 

With all due respect, I have to say that this is totally unacceptable and disgraceful considering that this is their fifth route on TSW. A serious company should not sell a product in these conditions.
