A couple of strange things about the 314 railtour services on the new Rivet Edinburgh:Glasgiw route. Apologies if someone else has spotted them. First, you cannot spawn at Edinburgh and pick up the 314 12:00 service from Platform 10a, or at Glasgow for the 13:08 from Platform 7. They aren't there. The timetabled 385s are, but not the 314s. Secondly, the 314s on Edinburgh:Glasgow do not appear in the Train Depot. which rather defeats the reason for having the Train Depot. In short they seem to exist in some sort of alterative reality, only accessible via 314 option on the timetable.
I believe, as they are a railtour, they only appear as AI on a certain day/ month? Much like the RHTT ai services. But don't hold me to it.
It's not - I checked. I got off the 314, walked to the 385 on the next platform, and turned on the display to get the date and time. I then spawned at that date and time and there was no 314.
They have likely removed them as possible AI services, so they won’t spawn unless you spawn them. They do this so it doesn’t effect the reality of a route, I believe this exists on certain services in SEHS too.
Was going to ask what the 2 AI services were then, but presumably they are the ones that bring the train into the station. Might be worth asking Rivet if there are any requirements for them to appear.
You’d think they’d litter a few about just to fill some tracks even if they don’t have a service. They could of added services where they were driving to scrapyards or even have their 37 from WCL tow a set to scrap etc. Something to break the monotony.
According to Jasper, the 314 and RHTT are NOT seasonal services. If they were, they would only spawn during specific months as AI, but if you choose the service from timetable, you can drive it each day. From what you describe, they either seem to be seasonal despite what Jasper said, or there is a bug that prevents them from spawning as AI. Maybe someone who knows what they are doing can look in the timetable files, if they are setup as seasonal.
I drove a 385 service in Timetable mode in April or May around midday from Glasgow Queen street and I saw a 314 after leaving the tunnel at Glasgow station.
I initially saw the title of this thread and thought, even with some of the lighting/sound bashing going on of the route, surely there can't be that many oddities on the route! Over three hundred. Then saw thread contents to realise it meant Class 314
Yep this definitely spawns in April (not January, June) This just arrived on platform 10a I take it the 2 AI services is the one that brings it to Edinburgh and the ones that take it back to the portal. Hentis
