Grab yourself a cup-of-Joe, rustle up a New York bagel and hoist that star-spangled banner – new American content is coming to Train Sim World 3 from February 21st!

Eagle-eyed members of the Train Sim World community will no doubt have seen the sneaky tease of a certain Amtrak train during the Holiday Season and those that tuned into the Festival of Rail’s Train Sim World Spring Summit at the start of this month will have seen even more about what we have coming to Train Sim World in the future from the USA, UK and Germany.

But if you’re one of our many players across the pond in the USA, or just a fan of all things America, we have more than just one new train to announce this month. We have a new route, new liveries and upgrades to some existing Train Sim World routes too!

Find out more in this article! https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-sim-world/articles/article/us-super-bundles

VIDEOS (please bear in mind these are all WIP):

    Summit announce:

Northeast Corridor: New York - Trenton gameplay segment:

    Amtrak's Acela gameplay segment:

    UP Heritage Collection gameplay segment:

Note: there's a little choppiness on this video - this is from the recording, rather than reflecting the FPS of the route.

Quick note: we're aware of a bit of confusion regarding the pricing on the Steam Store:

To clarify - the bundle prices are correct, but what I think it's done for the indivudual UP, Acela, Trenton, is taken the lowest bundle price it's currently a part of and included that in there

So ignore the individual component parts for now (the pricing for these is available here, and you will only be able to get these on launch), and they should be sorted in the next couple of days.

Pricing and bundle options are available here:

US Starter Pack and individual routes will be available with launch on February 21st.

Note: if you own Boston Sprinter and/or Sherman Hill already, you do not need to pay to upgrade. This will be an automatic update for FREE.

It's really sad, I would like to get all three new DLC, sadly I won't be getting any discount so I'll only buy 2. I'm not paying £9.99 for 6 liveries and 6 scenarios - I'll wait for a very reasonable discount on that before buying. I said the same at the launch of TSW3, please DTG, include a bundle/complete my collection for players who already own the DLC.

£10 for 6 liveries and scenarios, bit too steep imo, diesel legends of the great western was £8.49 and that was well worth it, for a route I hardly play, no thank you

I agree, useless if you already own Boston-Providence and TSW 3 and thus automatically eligible for an upgraded route for free but would still need to buy each and not get a discount. The US passenger bundle at this current stage means you get one route for £4 which seems mad.

Yeah would love to know why there’s no NY and Acela bundle for those who have Boston

Hopefully I understand your question correctly.

If you own Boston already, I'd say you have two options, depending if you'd be happy to pre-order or not.

Option 1: Pre-order the Passenger Bundle, and get UP Heritage Collection on launch separately
Option 2: get all the individual bits on launch when they release

...I believe that works out at the same price, but you might want to cross-reference that against the infographic I posted above.

NOTE: unless you're paying in $s, in which case I believe there's around a $3 saving to be made by pre-ordering the Passenger Bundle (apologies, have been working in £s mostly).

The US passenger bundle seems to be cheaper than purchasing NY-Trenton and the Acela separately. A shame I can’t take advantage of such a deal, since I already own TSW 3. Still an insane deal for those who don’t!

I see that part of the old name still remains in the US Super Bundle! Doesn’t have the same ring as Super-Duper-Awesome-Special Bundle, but it is what it is.

Will a NY + Acela bundle be released, especially as those who already own Boston - Providence and TSW 3 are being completely ripped off.

What about if I also have Cajon Pass?
I mean I also have Sherman Hill
I am interesting on only buying the SD70ACE Heritage Package, New York - Trenton route and the Acela for this route.

    Can this be possible?

Please explain how to do it?

More serious question, the Amtrak bring scenarios to Boston Sprinter, but does it brings services ?

It's a penny cheaper to buy all the addons separately than to buy the passenger bundle (if one owns NEC Boston). It's £44.99 (with 10% off) vs £44.98 for Acela and NEC New York (NEW) separately.

I was expecting a bundle that included all three of the new dlc's, Trenton, Acela and the UP pack. But it's not there.

Guess I'll have to wait and buy them individually at launch, unless some bright spark can figure out a better deal for just the new content.

This kind of penalizes those of us who want all the new stuff but who already own BPE and SMH.

Is there no reward for loyalty?

We don't have plans for that bundle at this stage. The component parts, on launch, are cheaper than the Passenger Bundle without the pre-order discount.

(I should note, I'm working mainly in £s - I believe there's a slight pre-order saving (around $3) on dollars with the Passenger Bundle if you own Boston already)

I just wonder why anyone would want to pre-order when it's cheaper to buy separately on release?

Pre-ordering is supposed to be incentivised, even with 10% pre order discount on the passenger bundle it's still more expensive than waiting for the actual release date!

And more importantly WITH the pre order discount, it's still cheaper (all be it a penny difference), to buy separately on launch than pre-order.

To be fair, bundling in some Union Pacific locomotives with some unrelated Northeast Corridor add-ons doesn’t make all that much sense.

There is a reward though! When you purchase new content, DTG rewards you with new trains to drive, and a new route to drive them on (depending on which add-on you happen to buy)!

The UP Heritage Collection is a little to expencive for me! For a small amount off repaints and scenarios is 11,99 to much!

Yeah, may have to pass on all the new content for now, with no bundles for just the new content, as well as the high price of the Heritage Unit pack, this will be a pass for me.

Exactly - there should be a bundle that includes all 3 of the new items. How about giving back something to your existing customers who have supported the game from the day 1 heavy haul pioneers edition.

I am not sure who came up with these bundles, they purposely seem designed to confuse, could you have made it any more complicated? I am a chartered accountant and its taken me some head scratching to work out that none of these are a good deal for me!

I understand, but I do hope that plans are made because not accounting for the pre-order discount, the bundle is tremendous for those players who do not own the Acela and various NEC routes as they are saving £20 because (£15(Acela) + £25(Boston-Providence) + £30 (NY-Trenton) = £70 if add-ons are bought separately, this doesn't account for the training centre so the savings are even bigger. £70 - £50 = £20. However, if one already owns the Boston Sprinter and buys the bundle then they are more than £15 out of pocket because if one doesn't include the Training Centre (as one cannot buy the Training Centre on its own to the best of my knowledge) and divide the cost of the bundle for the 3 add-ons you get £16.66 each. This means DTG should really create a bundle of the Acela and the NY-Trenton route which is around £15 cheaper to save Boston Sprinter owners money or you could throw in the training centre and charge £12.50 less (49.99/4 = 12.50 (to the nearest penny)). I hope that DTG sees this as its bundles are penalising loyal TSW 3 fans like myself who already own Boston Sprinter.

i just all up the total for the PC Steam store for the US Passenger Bundle, and the total came out to be $57.78, so is it worth it to wait for them to be separate or just buy it. How much does the NY Penn- Trenton Route cost on its own and Amtrak Acela DLC?

For the me the NEC and Acela are absolutly fine i like both but for 7 scenarios and repaints paid 11,99 is for me to expensive... It's more later for a sale!

Eagle eyed members are wondering why there is no bundle for the new content only?

All the marketing is aimed at existing customers, but the pricing is aimed at new customers who likely have very little idea any of this exists yet?

This is all taking place alongside the fact that we’re looking at 2 new types of price increases for existing DLC, which DTG are not saying anything about.

Well, after getting excited over the new US content, my hands are "back in my pocket" on this. At over $100 to get the new NEC and Acela, to darn much. Will now wait for a sale where they are less expensive.

It's a bit annoying the new NEC New York isn't free for owners of the original and that it doesn't have the SW1000R (still among the best trains in TSW) and the wagons from the GP40-2 and NEC New York that still haven't been rereleased.

Will be getting the Acela and Trenton day 1 assuming the Acela is adding services to Boston, not just Scenarios- i'm assuming yes but the wording in the article is vague.

Probably will wait for a sale on the UP pack.

Having pre-ordered Scotrail with the 10% discount, I'll wait and see on these. I fully expect to get NY-Trenton and the Acela at some point, but it won't be day one.

Ok, that's a bit stretching it, the new route only shares a handful of the old route and the cab car, and wouldn't be fair to give away such amount of content for free.

It's actually not. It's 39.99+22.99 which is around $63. The individual dlc price has not been applied to the acela.
